Our waitress was an absolute sweetheart and attentive. The food prices were really high. Baked potato was alright but I've had better, which makes no sense. Baked potato is pretty basic. Hubs and i both got the ribeye, and its labeled as their most flavourful steak, and it most certainly is not. For the first time in my life, i asked for A1 sauce to go with it. My son got the chicken fried steak and he said it wasn't very good, and trust me thus boy eats the same thing at every restaurant he goes to that serves it, haha. Salad was okay. Presentation was good. Restaurant is cute and well laid out. Nice and comfy.

I am trying to pick off restaurants from my "want to go list" every Saturday, and this one was worth the drive to the country..The parking was fairly full, but there was plenty of seating. Our waitress handed us menus and brought water while we looked over the selections. My wife got the luncheon chicken fried steak and I ordered the patty melt..Our food arrived promptly, and it was very good. Besides being delicious, my wife appreciated the smaller portion. She still struggled to finish it. My patty melt was great as well. I too had a hard time joining the Clean Plate Club..It's a bit of a shame, because their pie case was very tempting..This will be a prime location during the Round Top Antique Show or while bluebonnet hunting. Our experience was excellent and we'd be sure to stop when near.

Had the Friday night prime rib special. It was very good with a baked potato casserole and green beans. We had to start dinner with some of their onion rings! Wow! They were great.

Fully loaded potato came without any butter. It had been cooked like yesterday and reheated.Ordered shrimp and oysters and they were the worst ever eaten. Extremely bland food and not worth 53.00. Service was also poor. Not returning.

The chicken fried steak was amazing. I ordered the 16 oz, and I should have taken half of it home, but I couldn't stop eating it! Service was great, the food was great... I'll definitely be back.

Sat down promptly. Only one side of restaurant was open. Not busy. Took 30 minutes to get my salad. 1 hour to get our meal. Food was mediocre. Not the standards we expected in the past. Manager and other staff were standing around chitty chatting.Used to be our favorite place to stop on our way to the hill country. Not any more!

A group of us went to eat lunch here. Many of us had been here before. No complaints from anyone. The service was great, even with our large group of 18. Very prompt and professional staff who catered to our every need.I had the Pan Seared Catfish Platter with Steamed Carrots and Green Beans. There were three nice sized fillets and good portions of both vegetables. Absolutely amazing. Every bite was as good as the first and the flavors were great. I’d order this dish again anytime.I’d recommend JW’s Steakhouse to anyone looking for some great home style comfort food.

If you’re reading this review, there’s a good chance you’re looking for a place to eat after going antiquing in Round Top. We were! JW’s was recommended to us by one of the shop owners and I’m so glad we stopped in. They were a bit short staffed, I believe because they got an unexpected rush of people after the antique fair. They were still friendly and fast and the food came out quickly. We got the fried pickles, chicken fried chicken, and chicken fried steak. All were delicious, and the portions were large! The fried okra was a standout. I would recommend and we’ll be back after our next antiquing trip!
