We found this place on our way back up North to Illinois. Well worth the detour. Great food and service . Sides were homemade . I can’t believe this place has a 4.6 on google on Facebook it has a 5.0 if I could give more stars I would it is a 10 in our book. So when in Carthage Texas please look up this business . Help a small business out. You will not be disappointed. Can’t wait until the next trip to Houston this will for sure be a stop we make .

Today was a very cold, wintry day and they offered chili on their Facebook page. I stopped by and picked some up. They used brisket rather than regular chili meat and it was excellent. Very freindly staff.

It's BBQ. Not amazing BBQ, but BBQ nonetheless. It's certainly not the best BBQ in the area, but the portions are great. Would prefer more fat, more pepper, and less salt on the brisket. The brisket is also overcooked, but a perfectly fine base for chopped beef sandwiches. The pork ribs are perfectly salted but under seasoned and overcooked. The smoke on each was perfect, though.The staff is great and the restaurant is well organized.I would NOT recommend the dirty rice or the mac. They're oversalted and not very good. I had a bite or two of each and threw them away.I tried very hard not to be too critical on my review. I enjoy smoking BBQ and I also enjoy BBQ from all over the state. I've had much worse (i.e. Jim's in Waskom, Cooper's on I-10 in Junction, Porky's in Marshall,) but I've also had some pretty top flight Q around the state. Circle H could be much, much better. The rating is not at all indicative of the service I received or the people in the business. Perhaps it was an off day, and I wouldn't be upset if someone was determined to go back, but I know of a few other spots in the area that are much better, one within a mile.

Stopped here on a whim. We are camping at Martin Creek. Amazing brisket and ribs. They give huge amounts of meat per serving. Sides are great too. Nice people. A TON of local workers seem to eat here. Good place worth the stop.
SUPER upset my family is driving from Arkansas to Houston and we decided to take a small detour and drive to this little town to taste their BBQ.THEY HAD A SIGN ON THE FRONT DOOR saying they were “ALL OUT OF FOOD!”We wanted authentic food but instead had to order from the closest restaurant which was Sonic.
