This was my first time at this restaurant and Shay was a wonderful waitress and Chef Derrick put his foot in this food!! It was great and I will definitely come back!!

If i could give this place 0 stars i would! The staff was rude! We were first time customers, the atmosphere was horrible. We weren’t greeted or approached. Literally walked in and turned around. I’ll never support this business.

Owner had the worst attitude ever while taking my order today she blamed it on having a headache, food was cold and Presentation with Sloppy, first and last time here,her behavior just cause her a customer, you try to support our own but never again al,I am trashing this chicken and dumpling that looks like water and no meat unacceptable

Stopped by during work to grab lunch! This is the best soul food I’ve had! It wasn’t hearty and great clean cooking! Will definitely be bringing friends and family to enjoy this place!

I wasn't pleased. I grew up on soul food-this wasn't it. The corn bread was given cold in foil and crumbled when broken. It was obviously day old. I ordered chicken n dressing. No gravy on the order. Greens-salty, not good. Mac n cheese-instant. Nothing soulful about them. Ok i guess. I called back to ask if they served gravy on it and they said, no. Banana pudding: brown. Not pleased. It looked like vomit. They forgot my tea. They forgot to ask for my phone number as that's what they use to let customer know the order is ready. I liked the atmosphere, cute, however, the food-not so much. I will not return.
I enjoyed eating here when the location was in Lancaster. I'm really glad they have moved to Cedar Hill, the vibe inside was really nice. I ordered Tenders, Mac/Cheese, Greens, Blackeyed Peas and Meatloaf. My tenders plate was on point as usual all my veggies were good too but that meatloaf was burnt on the bottom and very dry. I will be calling to see if I can get a redo on that plate. Also, they need to update the online menu to the new prices . It's still reasonable and plenty for your buck. I don't mind paying $17 for a meatloaf plate as long as it's not dry?
