Interesting restaurant design. It's an old house turned restaurant. We showed up late in the day... headed toward 6p and were the only ones there so we were a bit concerned about the taste by the lack of crowd but I guess we missed the rush. Mixed review here. I'll start with the good. My aunt got a to go.... couple tacos, burnt ends (Saturdays only) and sausage. Said it was delicious. I didn't order any food because their prices are too rich for me. I'm not paying $17 for just a sandwich. I did however get a chocolate chip cookie. Terrible! Dry and crumbly. I'm not gonna rate the service. I mean nothing happened but the 2 workers there seemed they'd rather be elsewhere. Weren't warm and welcoming. Maybe they were just tired and ready to go from the crowd i can only assume was there earlier.

$16 for one half pound of bad brisket. Charro beans were okay but rather bland. Cole slaw was also just okay but I would not order again. This is advertised as $10-$20 price range but our meals were $27 each. No plates available. Everything is ale-carte No baked potatoes available. Drinks are in glass bottles and I think $3.50 each. I can not recommend this restaurant unfortunately and actually advise against spending hard earned money here. I will not return and I don’t think they will last long. Worst $54 spent on any BBQ that I’ve ever had.

Went here on a Saturday with my family for lunch around 1pm. Not crowded. The staff was friendly and attentive. We ate inside, as it was a tad chilly out. Inside is quaint with limited seating. Weather permitting, they have several outdoor tables though. Was pleasantly surprised by the food. That brisket is the TRUTH! Tender and perfectly seasoned! Love love love that it wasn't over salted. No need for sauce on the brisket as it is fantastic alone, but the sauce is very good. It pairs excellently with the meat. Been to several bbq spots and the sauces always turn me off, but thats not the case here. Brisket grilled cheese was IMMACULATE! Gimme 14 of 'em right now. I normally hate every Mac n cheese any place has to offer, but this Mac n cheese is wonderful! Perfectly cheesy, not overcooked, well seasoned with a little kick. I always appreciate a hand punched fry fried in tallow. Those fries are the kind you find in small towns- the best kind of fry. My only qualm is the drinks. They are bottled with the exception of the frozen ones. I wish they had fountain drinks to make getting refills easier, so you don't have to keep buying a new bottle. Also offering some sugar subs for the unsweetened tea would be nice. I definitely recommend giving this place a whirl! Good food is hard to find in Cedar Hill, let alone good bbq! I eagerly await my next visit to explore the menu further.

We had a small social gathering for our gym members to get out of the studio and socialize, Mija's was the perfect spot! Food was incredible and the ambiance of the place really allowed everyone to feel comfortable and had something to talk about. We will book here again come Summer 2025! Thank you

On November 7th around 12:40. I walked in to this establishment for the first time, the guy with the red beard look directly at me, didn’t even speak or nothing. I grab the menu waiting on him to acknowledge me. He never said anything to me so ,I politely walked out. Also I went to this establishment on Referral , but I will never go back.

The first thing you see as soon as you walk in is very unfriendly faces, not welcoming at all so customer service was out the door the moment we started ordering… The food was ok but that’s it, lacking flavor and seasoning. The brisket nachos and brisket sandwich were ok but the mija burger had no flavor which was extremely disappointing. Frozen lemonade was delicious!

I am all about small business. This is not a bad review at all and will more likely be back. Went for breakfast last weekend. They don't have any liquid sugar for iced coffee. I also think the kids meals are very small portion compared to other places. The kids had one pancake and two slices of bacon with a bit of potatoes they missed the eggs.. My husband had the chilaquiles he loved the spiciness but said they could use some beans as a side. Everyone was extremely nice!!!!! The place was also super clean!!!

AWESOME food that is unique and not a chain! The inside is really bright, welcoming and clean. Even the bathroom was really cute! It has an outside area with tables and some games! Yummy and fun!

Kid-friendliness: Games and area to run around a little.

Overall, the food is very "alright" here. Nice brisket seems to be their staple item on the menu, you would think it would have more flavor. If it wasn't for the small container of bar b que sauce that they give you, the brisket would be a swing and a miss.

I also suggest that they serve a full menu all day.

I honestly did not even want to give a review because I wanted to selfishly keep this hidden gem a secret. However, it’s too good not to share! Very good food, great atmosphere, awesome service!

The Food is AMAZING here.
Today I had the BRISKET SANDWICH. A toasty warm buttered bun with loads of thick chopped meat falling off the sides. No sauce to drizzle or dip was perfectly okay because this sandwich was PERFECT. I can't afford to eat here often for a $16 sandwich, but the memory of it will stick with me until I return next month. ??

Vegetarian options: Not sure

Parking: Only a few spaces available

Kid-friendliness: Not sure if they have a Kuds menu but splitting these large sandwiches are ideal

Wheelchair accessibility: Yes there is a Ram Entrance
