Stopped bye on my way home and picked up a sledgehammer sandwich to go. Was looking forward to digging into it soon as I got home. Unfortunately the brisket looked like day old overcooked leather. I will admit this is the first bad experience I've ever had at Tender but man this is a letdown. I deconstructed the sandwich after the first bite and when I stuck a fork in the brisket it crumbled and fell apart, not in the good way. I live about an hour away so I didn't turn around and take it back. Because I'm so far away it's rare that I get a chance to stop in to one of my favorite barbecue spots, so this made it even more unfortunate. Just take note, always, always look over your order before you leave the establishment.Update: Thanks so much for the reply. Also,the refund is unnecessary but appreciated. I assure you I will be back to spend it next time I'm in the area... It would take a lot more than one bad sandwich to run me off from Tender. Thanks.

Service: immediately the lady up front barked at us and said there will be a wait and asked if we would just rather order to go. We decided to wait and got a table in about 20 min. Little to no direction from the front staff. They were not hospitable.I love brisket. Theirs was ok. Not terrible but not great. Just ok. Beans were not my favorite. Jalapeño sausage was awesome. Ribs were pretty good too.Atmosphere was cool. Not enough space but I liked that.
Love this place for its atmosphere and friendly service! The food meets my expectations every time, but the service is incredible. Great place for a date night or time with the whole family! I hope this place expands in the near future.

Absolutely fantastic! The quaint entrance leads to a rustic inviting atmosphere. Every one of the staff members were extremely helpful and genuine. Lots of fan favorites are on the menu but the cashier was happy to help navigate it wonderfully. From the fresh brewed sweet tea to the little bottles of bbq sauce. It adds to the overall Texas nostalgia. Now, down to the food! I got a smoked Turkey baked potato the size of a softball fully loaded with butter, cheese, chives and sour cream. A children’s smoked turkey sandwich with a side of creamy mac&cheese and also the Tender twist on a Frito Pie which was filled with mac&cheese, baked beans, jalapeños, smoked brisket and onions. They even threw in a couple of extra treats just for showing up. A banana pudding and the true winner of the day which was their famous beans. It tasted like they were cooked over a grill in home made bbq sauce with brisket added in. In conclusion, a born and bread Texan will be returning for more soon!
