Ive lived here 10yrs and always enjoyed them. Despite it being the same owners/workers, they’ve become rude and the place is going down hill.
I specifically asked if there was a doz choc glazed w/ sprinkles that were already made, I didn’t want them freshly glazed cause it’s not the same. She said yes, yes, yes. That is the verbatim convo for my order. He comes back after too many mins and gives me the box, I leave. Thankfully I checked before getting outta town and I had a doz FRESHLY glazed with wet choc. Back I go. I explained to him the donuts were for small children and the wet choc is too messy, that’s why I was specific when ordering. He refunds my money w/ an ugly attitude, mocking and condescending because I said it was “messy”. As tho the concept that wet choc was extra messy for small kids was an insane premise and also deeply insulting to his wife. As tho the choc is something she’s deeply sentimental about and not something they buy out of a jar/can but even then, ‘messy’ isn’t an insult! He then essentially shoo’s me along like an annoyance cause I said “messy”. He tried explaining why they do not top any doughnut. Nowadays they make only glazed and then top to order. It’s fine, it’s your business, do what you want but ALL of this could’ve been prevented if she’d just been honest when I asked. And it wasn’t a language barrier issue like some reviewers say. Maybe she worried answering honestly I would’ve left and they’d lose the order. If so, this is worse. Yes I would’ve left today but I would know in the future to call ahead to order so things are set before I get there. Or something to work around the new way they’re operating with only glazed donuts. Now I just will never go back. People say good things bout the donut shop in Madisonville. I’ll be giving them a try. But I won’t give any more of my business to Parrot. Been a good 10+ years of patronage. Shame. If they don’t right the ship soon, they’ll be out of business.
