Spectacular hamburger steak . Smothered and gravy ( brown gravel to be Exact) Big Portions of sides . The owner served us . Clean bathrooms . Fast service . Strong drinks . Variety of tvs going with different games playing .

The chicken fried steak was hand dreaded and tender. Could cut with my fork. Fried okra done right. Mac and cheese like mom makes and tx toast. My wife had grilled chicken with quest and bacon on it. Normally comes with cilantro but she asked not to have that. Baked potatoe was loaded and yummy. The green beans were good as well!

Pleasant surprise in Childress as we were passing through. The food is actually homemade all the way: hand cut fries and mashed potatoes and hand-breaded chicken and chicken fried steak. If we weren’t just passing through with a few hours still to drive, would have loved to have a few drinks and play some pool as well. Next time in town we will stop in again!

Chicken Fried Steak was correct. I'm a big believer in making standard fare correct. Make it correct, and it's good. And it was good.
And the Chilton was outstanding. West Texas classic done correct. The Chilton alone was worth the trip.
