Great cozy local diner restaurant with historical ties to Cleburne dating back to 1920. Imagine eating at an establishment that’s 125 yrs old! Food is great. Prices are reasonable. Breakfast prices are very reasonable. They have a great Steak & Shrimp dinner plate. They also have pastries and pies. Step into the past and give the Chaf-in restaurant a try. I give it 5 out of 5 stars.

I am a fan of Chaf-In. I've been going there ever since I was old enough to take a date with me. Southern Comfort foods, family friendly.

We have been eating here since 1981 and honestly I have NEVER had bad food or service! Breakfast lunch and dinner (supper) are always DELICIOUS AND CONSISTENT!! I'm very picky about chicken fried steak and Chaf In is in the top 3 !! Also you are sitting in a piece of Johnson County history! Not enough space to list the great qualities of this business! Daily Lunch and breakfast specials! ❤️

We've only had breakfast here, no lunch or dinner. Breakfast is good. Service is spot on! Atmosphere is terrific 👌

First, the service was great and it has the feeling of a classic rural eatery.

The food seemed very bland. The clientele seemed to be older, so maybe they are catering to the low-sodium, low spice, no-flavor crowd.

My wife had the chopped brisket platter. It came with potato salad and beans.

It looked like dog food. The BBQ sauce was watery and flavorless, they have the only potato salad on the planet with no relish in it, and how you can do beans that have no taste is a wonder, but they pulled it off.

I had the Cleburne Burger. No complaints there. It was tasty and the bun was delicious. But they had the worst fries I've had in a while. Undercooked, limp and zero seasoning.

They have 24hr breakfast, so I expect that's where they must shine.

Terrific experience on the Thanksgiving holiday meal. The food was very tasty and the service was friendly and timely, even with the high traffic of patrons. Check out was quick and easy. Parking was easily available for handicapped and regular parking patrons.
There were a few menu options for those who are vegetarian. The atmosphere was not too loud where you couldn't talk to your guests or table neighbor. The pricing was reasonable and competitive with others in the area.

Vegetarian options: Have to decide what is vegetarian on your own.

Parking: Labeled handicap parking. Handicap ramp available.

Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp to entrance would closely allow for a wheelchair.

Recommended dishes: Sandwich, Salad

A couple of days ago I left a less than stellar review cause of a misunderstanding with the owners. I told Mary, one of the wait staff, what I did and she explained that I misunderstood their intentions and to think about removing the review. After much thought I realized my mistake and removed the review. My apologies to Gene and Bedula, the present owners of one of the last mom and pop country kitchens in a fast growing town. Chaf-in still has that small-town country feel. Thank you Gene and Bedula for your patience with me. My apologies if I misspelled your names. God bless!
