Apparently, a great restaurant has been in Cleburne this whole time and no one told us. We finally made reservations for their Valentine’s menu and were impressed from the start.
Jimmie’s is tucked just a few blocks from the historic courthouse. It’s small and intimate, perfect for a date night, and seating is limited so plan ahead.
The four-course meal was excellent. The crab cake with lemon butter sauce was outstanding. I’m not a seafood guy, but this one changed my mind. Melt-in-your-mouth good. The beef filet, ordered medium rare, was perfectly cooked and fork tender. The mashed potatoes were clearly not an afterthought. Heavy cream was involved. Probably some cheese. No complaints there.
Jimmie stopped by our table during the meal, and we learned they were celebrating their 7th anniversary. It’s not every day the chef checks on your table. That says something.
We finished with cheesecake, rich and creamy, with several topping options. The only thing I would have added was a cup of coffee to go with it.
Expect fine dining prices, but the quality matches it. This isn’t an every-weekend place, but for a special occasion, Jimmie’s is a great choice. We left full, impressed, and already planning to return.

We came here on a bit of a whim for a date night in the middle of the week, and we might have found a new favorite spot! The food was spectacular, the ambiance was relaxing, and Chef was super friendly! Told us they've recently opened for lunch hours and will be doing brunch starting on Valentine's Day!

Small town vibe, Big city flavor and flair. Stumbled upon Jimmie’s one late night while looking for a nice steak. All other restaurants in the area were closed or closing. Jimmie’s was one of those restaurants. Called to see if they were open and was told they were in the process of closing for the night. With no other options available, we were just about to settle for fast food, thankfully the owner of the establishment called us and told us to come on in. We immediately rushed to the restaurant. Let me tell you we could not have been more pleased. When I say big city flavor that’s exactly what I mean. Everything was delicious from the mixed drinks, too of course the steak. Jimmy’s has it all. Friendly and inviting staff excellent drink choices and a steak that will melt in your mouth. While we were a bit late to enjoy some of the other side options that had sold out during the day. We were still exceedingly satisfied. Thank you Jimmy’s for a wonderful experience. Looking forward to the next time we visit during normal business hours, of course.

We were looking forward to trying this place forever. We decided to eat at bar. Took 10 mins to order a drink because bartender kept being interrupted by wait staff as she was explaining to me drinks. She finally had to tell them to read the room and wait until she’s finished. So then we decided to move to a table thinking service would be better. We waited 10 mins with nobody even coming to the table. Had to wave someone down asking who our server was. Then she approached who happened to be our waitress asking her about our table. They looked at us, moved to the corner and were discussing it looking at us and just was very strange. The entire dinner was weird. We asked for a menu, they said use your phone. Then wanted a side salad. Was told they don’t have any salads. Then ordered an appetizer fried cauliflower. They brought out with no dipping sauce. We asked for ranch for them. Waitress said she has to ask if we can have ranch. She came back and said no we can’t have ranch. Came back ten minutes later and said Jimmie said you can have this sauce. Ok. Cool. Then throughout the whole meal they kept trying to take our plates when we had more than half of our food left. At one point waitress literally came over and took my husbands plate from him when he wasn’t even done eating. She left and I said “were you done eating, she took your plate.” He didn’t even realize she took it. So he ate off of mine rest of dinner (we were sharing). The steak was overcooked, potatoes were not very warm. We love Jimmie though! We won’t be back, unfortunately.

We were passing through on our way to San Antonio and saw the great reviews, so we decided to stop in. We sat at the bar and the bartender (mixologist) was wonderful! We had the filet which was cooked to perfection. Mashed potatoes and sautéed mushrooms were just as great. I had the pound cake for dessert which was amazing!!
