Life for all certainly has peaks and valleys. For me, I cannot imagine a more difficult year than 2020. Having plowed my way home one weekend from Boston, in what should have been an American journey, became something closer to a Stasi experience. Arriving at the house my Kiki had chicken fried steak on the table, and in one bite I was transported to a heavenly land. It was the combination of surreal flavor at the end of an exhausting road that conjured up all that is good in this world to the forefront of my mind. Who made this I gasped? Jimmie. I have heard it said that a great restaurant should remove you from the burdens of life and transport you to another world. Not only did Jimmies takeout provide this experience for me during the most difficult of times, he and Amanda and their team continue to uplift my spirits every weekend over these many subsequent years with their gourmet meals and fine drinks. While I’d prefer never to leave Cleburne, necessity has forced me far and wide. Even at ten times the cost, in the world’s most prestigious cities, I’ve been unable to find a better meal, in any restaurant. We are so fortunate to have this diamond in our hometown.

The menu offers a fantastic selection of dishes. Everything is made with fresh, high-quality ingredients, and you can taste the care and attention in every bite. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, always ready with a smile and helpful recommendations. Whether you're a local or just passing through, Jimmie's Downtown is a must-visit. Jimmie is such an amazing chef! Best salmon I’ve ever had! Everything was delicious and Jimmie himself came out to make sure all was well. You can truly tell that everything is homemade and nothing is canned or frozen or anything like that. Highly recommend adding one of the featured butters to your meal - the herb butter was great with the mashed potatoes!

This is the best restaurant in Cleburne, but if it moved to nearly any other city, it would rank as one of the best. It is simply outstanding.
Every dish we got was the best of what I would imagine that dish to be.
We had a large group tonight. They did not break stride with our table. Everything came out as ordered. We never felt rushed which is a rarity in restaurants these days.
The menu is also changing. Being the only "fancy" restaurants in the area, one could go there and not tire of offering.
Other reviews talk about the food specifically. I recommend reading the ones that talk about how amazing it is.
Kid-friendliness: There are no kid specific dishes but we wanted our kids to experience a really nice, refined meal. We would not let them lick their plates, but they wanted to. It is expensive for that but it is a good experience.
My husband and I had a wonderful birthday celebration at Jimmie's. Our meal was superb!! Jimmie's special entree that night was sea bass and it was fabulous!! It was seasoned and prepared perfectly. I would highly recommend Jimmie's for a delicious meal and a special evening.
Dietary restrictions: My husband has to eat gluten free and they were very accommodating.
Great place to eat! The staff was friendly and they all had a big smile! Jimmie the owner came out of the kitchen to say hi and check on us. The food was great. Best filet I have ever eaten!! I highly recommend you try it!

I'll start by saying that this is a small restaurant. One competent waitor could run the whole floor. My fiance and I came here looking for a nice dinner the night before our big day. The restaurant was maybe half full, and most of the tables were leaving. It took the waitress 15 minutes to bring us water. They were out of the appetizer we wanted, and we were told that she would have to check on the availability of green beans. How the hell do you not have green beans? Anyway, we ordered drinks, and after waiting another 15 minutes with no drinks, we left. Oh, and while I was sitting there waiting on a beer for 30 minutes, I watched the waitress hold the tablet for customers while they paid so that they had to leave a tip while she watched. This place pretends to be some high-class bougie place, but it's really just trashy and pathetic.
