This place is such a hidden treasure! Tucked right off the City Square, this cozy hideaway is the perfect spot for a cozy coffee date, an intense study session, or just an afternoon pick-me-up. My wife and I fell in love with this place as soon as we walked in. Not to mention the friendly staff and exceptional beverages. We each got a hot latte and it was bliss at first sip. We highly recommend making this place a priority. Our only complaint was the lack of souvenir mugs to purchase. But all in all, it was beyond lovely!

1-4-2026: I genuinely like the coffee here… when I’m actually able to enjoy it. Unfortunately, that seems to be increasingly rare.
On my most recent visit with my friend, we both ordered a drink (asked for extra hot… it was barely warm) and attempted to sit at an empty table. We were then informed—by someone who didn’t appear to be staff—that we couldn’t sit because the space was “reserved for an event.”
There was no signage on the door, no heads-up from employees, and the only “reserved” notice I saw was a small piece of paper near a table already full of flowers and boxes. It reasonably appeared to apply to that area only.
Meanwhile, the shop was packed with roughly 30 people and they were actively serving walk-in customers. If seating is reserved, that information should probably be communicated *before* people order—rather than after they’re made to feel like they’re in the way.
And honestly, this was less about the reservation itself and more about the pattern. Inconsistent drink temperatures. Ordering extra hot and getting lukewarm. Frequently being out of honey lavender. Fluctuating hours. Closing early. Every visit lately seems to come with a surprise obstacle that prevents me from actually enjoying the space or even reliably getting the drink I came for.
At some point, good coffee isn’t enough to outweigh constant issues. I want this place to succeed but active consistency, communication, and basic customer awareness would go a long way.

I was at shop 1 hour before closing and waited 30mins for coffee and 2 loaf of bread slices. My coffee was made incorrect I ordered peppermint iced white mocha with oatmilk. They made it a hot white mocha and it was nasty. The 2 employees did not work as a team and kept leaving each other. I love this shop but today was a awful experience.

What an amazing little coffee shop right in the heart of downtown. I’ve heard such amazing things about this place, but not sure why I hadn’t stopped in until recently. Now I’m hooked! Livi and Kammy Are just the sweetest and they have the best customer service especially so early in the morning. Super informative and so helpful And the drinks are out of this world. If you have not stopped in to see these two cuties or had the pleasure of having a drink from this place I highly recommend you do it. Super cute atmosphere amazing service and stellar drinks absolutely five stars.

5 stars does not do this place its justice! In such a small town, this is truly a gem. I came here an hour before closing, not as busy considering the day it was but nonetheless felt really comfortable. As someone who was visiting out of state, this was some of the best coffee in Texas and the service was really great! There were two ladies that were behind the counter serving me, Kammy and Tabitha, and they both were super friendly! Attentive to the details, Kammy was able to quickly get my order down quickly and made my drink exceptionally while her coworker was serving another customer. She offered alternatives to my initial order due to them not having them, and made me not regret any choice! Really sweet work staff that works efficiently and swiftly! ⭐ The interior of the place is super cool too, the wall designs and seating made it feel very comforting.
All in all, Mug on the Square feels like an experience rather than your average coffee shop. Alongside the great staff that operate the store, this is the place to get all your caffeine needs!
