I like having a little space between tables, but service is usually slow. After meals are served, it's impossible to get a waitress to return to the table.
This place is good, always clean, and has a family atmosphere. Tons of seating but usually just one or two waiters. I took off two stars because I agree with the other reviewer, this isn't a "from scratch" cafe although I wish it was. We hear similar complaints from other locals. Much of the food seems as though it comes from a can, box, or bag. I do like the chicken Riviera (though I'm certain it's made with boxed chicken and veggies), Sunday roast (when they're not out of the gravy), and a couple other menu choices. I think if the place vastly improved the quality of their food they would see a lot more business. Very friendly owner.

We are camping in Lake Colorado City and dinner didn’t go as planned so we last minute stopped here. SO GOOD! Everything we ordered was delicious. We were the only ones but everything tasted so fresh.

Kelley's Cafe always has great hot meals delivered in a flash. Takeout orders are always ready when I order carryout. When we dine in the atmosphere takes a little getting use to but the service and food never disappoint! There's always plenty of room for me and my family to gather together and definitely a gem hidden in the haystack. The menu has an extensive list of items they offer but it's great to have a variety and try something new each time. The appetizer assorted platter with mozzarella sticks, fried mushrooms, and fried pickles was so delicious it's our favorite!

Cool place to eat with great food and nice atmosphere. The restaurant is an old school cafeteria! The owner, Brenda, purchased the school and converted the cafeteria into the Cafe, and several classroom are rented or leased to small businesses to use as offices. Great way to reprpose an old building for sure. The food is delicious, and the serving sizes are more than sufficient. If you leave there hungry, it's your own fault! Staff is very friendly and I've never had a long wait for my food. No matter how busy they are, the service and speed is never a problem they even have a separate room for parties, events, or meetings if you need it. Adult beverages are also available, which is a nice touch if you enjoy a beer or wine with your meal. Very highly recommend this place!

Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly, high chairs and boosters available, bathrooms were built for kids since its an old school.

Yep. It’s an old elementary school turned discreet random restaurant in a residential area. I admit, after traveling off the highway I was a bit confused upon arrival. Asked a local to confirm, parked and went inside. It was weekday mid afternoon so I was solo. Ate at the counter. It’s a unique vibe. I couldn’t really figure it out but stayed to check out the meal. Service was solid. Prices are good. Ordered the chicken fried steak. Really good. Huge portions. Would definitely recommend. I did see a sign that said something about special events only on the weekends so maybe check to make sure it’s open if Sat Sun. Give it a try.

I was a little apprehensive at first. When I pulled up it’s in an old school. To my surprise it’s been the best food I’ve had in Colorad City. Had the Cowboy burger for lunch and had the club sandwich for dinner. The stuffed jalapeños are fresh! Definitely coming back again tomorrow before I leave town! Highly recommend!!

Wow what a treat this place was! As you roll up, it looks like a school cafeteria. But it is far from any school cafeteria that I ever dined in. The food was all fresh and fantastic! Everything that we had was wonderful! The service was equally outstanding. Don’t miss this place. It definitely doesn’t look like your normal restaurant but the food surpasses.

Surprisingly good menu in an old school house. Nice experience and I like to eat there when I'm in the area. I especially enjoy their root beer floats. Would be a fun place to take a date. The service is occasionally inattentive, but overall it's still a good and worthwhile experience.
