Excellent food and service in an unassuming hole in a wall.husband had seafood tostada.I had shrimp cooked with garlic.daughter had fried shrimp basket.everything was delicious and fresh.better than some restaurants I’ve eaten in South Padre.

What a great experience! Definitely ask for the waitress Irene! She was amazing! All of her recommendations for my family were great! We ate all of it. I love a place where yes the food is good, but the service is just as great! Definitely coming back and highly recommend eating here! Small town vibes!

The only thing delicious here was the fountain soda. Shrimp soup was bland. It was loaded with shrimp and vegetables just not much of flavor and if you make them aware of it, they offer you fix it to your liking with the bottled hot sauce they have. The Shrimp cocktail was the same. Loaded but bland. I recommend you sit near the cashiers if you want to feel some air conditioning. It was very toasty just about everywhere else in the restaurant.

Ordered takeout for lunch on my birthday and EVERYONE enjoyed it!Between us we tried the gumbo, fried catfish filets, fried oysters, fried shrimp, and chicken nuggets. Everything was wonderful. This was our first experience with El Golfo, but it won’t be our last.

The food was terrible. The shrimp on the menu looked completely different from what was served. They still had eyes and guts and were cold. They didn't have most things on the HAND WRITTEN menu board. And the bathroom was gross. Really not a place I would go to or even tell anyone existed.
