Traveling from College Station to Montgomery/Conroe- quaint family owned restaurant worth the stop. Stand outs were crispy tacos, tamales, and the skinny margaritas.

Pretty quiet and low key… which is good sometimes ☺️

Got there about 2:45 in the afternoon. Ordered beef fajitas off of the lunch menu. They were okay but really sort of bland. When I went to leave they charged me the dinner price. Lunch fajitas were $13.95. I paid 1995. With a tip it was $25 and I didn't even enjoy it. There just wasn't much flavor.

My worst decision
I wanted to celebrate my husband and a friend's birthday.
I got up to look for the waiter to serve us, I told him that there were 2 birthday boys, they never gave dessert to sing to those celebrating and they had mariachis and I asked them to bring it to the table and they never brought it.
I asked 2 waiters, the girl at the reception and Asta the owner and they never brought the mariachi and it was my turn to go look for the mariachis and they said that they already had to go and that no one told them that I wanted a mariachi
Anyway, very bad night, don't go celebrate a birthday there
STRONG House margs.

I’ve gone to Herrera’s about 3-4 times a month for the past year to attend lunch meetings and it’s always a great experience!
The staff are always friendly and welcoming, their food is hot and delicious and they get my large group in and out in about an hour which I am constantly impressed with. Thank you Herrera’s for taking care of us so well!

Best customer service, consistently great food. My husband and I share queso and fajitas for 1 and always leave full. The beef Fajitas Poblanos are my favorite. Love the Chamoy Rita and the sopapillas on the occasion we have extra room for dessert. The salsa is flavorful and served warm. I swear I could drink it. They also make our special request for Queso Blanco con chorizo. Hard to find a better classic, nostalgic Mexican restaurant than this one. The rice and refried beans are not great, but the charro beans are good! My husbad also enjoy ls the Durango enchilada meal. :)
