The food here used to be on point. I was coming almost once a week for a year. Over the last two months something has changed. I’m guessing they hired new cooks or one of their regular cooks left. The food hasn’t been all that great. Today the food was awful. I won’t be back. Three stars is for the wait staff. They have always been pleasant.

Just moved to the neighborhood so we thought we would try them. The food was fantastic. I had the chicken and shrimp fajita plate. Everything was cooked perfect. We had so much we brought home the leftovers and ate on it all evening. We definately will be back. Prices were good compared to how much food you got. You need to give them a try .

Brought the family and some friends to go out and have dinner tonight. Service was flawless. The atmosphere was great. The food was good and properly priced, minus my son's kids' meal quesadilla - where the quesadilla was very small. The flavors on all that we ate were good and on point - we will definitely return!

I have never had a bad meal or bad service from this restaurant. That said, I usually go there for their pozole and it never disappoints. Chips and salsa are good. I’ve tasted their fajita and it was good. I remember thinking their queso wasn’t spectacular but it was fine. Tacos were very good. Chilaquiles were delicious. Pancakes with interesting options were good, maybe a little expensive for pancakes but good. Their trash can nachos or whatever they call them look delicious.The rating system for restaurants in this area is insane. As I write this, Mestizos gets 3.8 out of 184 reviews on Yelp. This place should definitely rank above 4 stars. At least Google Maps gets it right with 4.3 stars.

This place used to be great, from the food to the service. However the last two times we visited the execution was terrible. The food was delivered cold. I took two bites and pushed the food aside and didn’t ask for a to go box. This just screams “we don’t care”. Last night the place maybe had 5 tables busy and the food took 30 minutes. I’m done, we won’t be back.

I really like this place but I wish things were a bit different. My complaints are more so with the restaurant’s TVs being messed up & flickering - it can effect people with photosensitive epilepsy & for that reason I’d say get your food to go until they sort the TV situation out.Meanwhile, most the food was fantastic! The mixed chicken & steak quesadillas are to drool and fight over.The cheese enchiladas were good - not the best but not the worst.The Guacamole was tasty - not too much lime juice or onion.The loaded queso you can order with the “loaded” portion on the side for those that do or do not want it - nicely accommodating.The appetizer sampler plate is a good amount of food and good for the price. If you have a table full of 2-3 people with small stomachs - ordering one of those could almost work out as a meal.The corn / elotes tasted weird. Lots of corn, lots of mayo, lots of cheese, but not a lot of spices. I found it was missing salt, pepper, paprika, heck any spice would’ve been a nice kick but it was mostly wet canned corn with mayo & cheese it seemed like. Not the best elotes around. Would be nicer if the corn was grilled even. I don’t know. Left a lot to be desired that’s for sure.
