Summary: Excellent food, excellent experience, prompt service, some allergy issues
Sierra Catering was a fantastic caterer for our wedding! We had them on 4/4/25. We ordered a buffet, a chocolate fountain, a charcuterie board, and a wedding cake from them. The guests raved about each all of it!
Sierra had an initial tasting where we tried all of the dishes, then a final tasting where we ate the food and cake we’d have at the wedding. It felt quite luxurious, and we made sure to come hungry the second time!
The highlights were: the chicken parm, the bacon-wrapped pork medallions, and the angel hair pasta. Seriously, that pasta was some of my favorite.
Our planners said they had no issue dealing with Sierra. The food came when it was scheduled.
One of our favorite experiences that Sierra insisted on was a private dinner for me and my wife. It was great, as we got the chance to enjoy the food in private before everybody was ready.
The only negative we had related to allergies. I have a severe nut allergy and ordered some cannolis for the dessert table. Apparently, they switched our order for somebody else’s, and we received cannolis with pistachios. We caught it before I or any of the others with nut allergies could eat them, but I was disappointed. I brought this up to Sierra, and they were extremely apologetic and understanding. They went so far as to refund the cost of the cannolis and even a portion of the rest of the desserts.
All in all, I am happy with my choice of caterer, and can whole-heartedly recommend Sierra Catering for any event!
Alex and his team catered our wedding at the end of April and I cannot say enough good things. The food was amazing, better than our tasting. All of our guests loved it and I didn’t hear one bad thing. The tasting itself is crazy because you get full portions to see how things are plated. There are SO many options. He also does desserts / cake. Seriously so good and we are picky wedding food people!!
I cannot rave about this company more!
They did my wedding on 5/2/25 and I’m grateful. Alex was helpful and let us try many different food options & we had multiple appointments before we came to an agreement. The team also took care of so many additional things on the day of the wedding just to help make sure the day flowed smoothly. He had great recommendations on a private dinner and the food options.
We had so many compliments on the food and the service!! Every single person said they loved it!!
I will be using them and recommending for all future use! Sierra Catering is wonderful!
I will start by saying that sierra catering is the best!!
Chef Alex you did it you delivered what you promised! everyone in my Daughter’s Quince was talking about how delicious the food was and not only that but what a great service you provided very responsible and you made everything go so smoothly
I’ll highly recommend you to anyone who is looking for a catering service and of course you will be catering for all my future events
Thank you again
Chef Alex catered my December 2024 wedding. Everyone I’ve spoken to raved about the food - especially the angel hair pasta and mashed potatoes. From start to finish, Alex is a skilled chef and professional. I’m so glad I met him on our wedding journey.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Sierra catering! The food was delicious, the owner is fantastic! I wish I would have known all of what this catering company does, but even though we only had our food with them, we are very happy!! I wish I had photos of the food, but it went too quickly. A few very slight issues, I felt that our food was a bit cold, but I think sometimes this happens when you serve buffet style. The young man who was at our event told us that we did not have cups in our “package”, I am guessing that he made a phone call or looked at an invoice, because we ended up with cups. Nothing is ever totally perfect , but We feel this was almost there. If you are needing food for an event, no matter what the event is, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND SIERRA CATERING!!
Thank you Alex!!
Had Sierra Catering cater our wedding via 3LE. From the tasting to the day of event, great service and even better tasting food. Highly recommend.

I couldn’t be happier with Sierra Catering. Thank you guys so much for your hard and amazing work!! I recommend them 1000%!!! Will use you all for any big event we have!!

We used this catering company for our wedding last June and were very disappointed. We had high hopes considering the tasting went so well but on the actual day of the wedding, we were weary disappointed. I emailed Alex 2 days after the wedding with a list of my concerns and he never replied. I also texted and my mother tried to call after the wedding and we received no response.
I am bringing this up a year later because still gets brought up to me and my husband that his family were served pork unwillingly and unknowingly. We just had our one year anniversary, and as we were reminiscing about the day with our families, we were reminded of all of the mishaps… still… a year later. So I wanted to inform others to be extra cautious to protect their loved ones.
These are what I emailed and what we were disappointed with:
1. We picked buffet style due to the London Broil because we were told they would get to go through and pick the cut of meat they want. However, they were cutting it and putting it in a tray and then serving it.
2. They cut the cake and put it in to-go boxes instead of on plates. Noone ate cake at the wedding, we ran out when we should have had more than enough. We had a 5 tier cake for maybe 190 people. Plenty of people did not get cake. The bride, groom, bride's parents and brother, groom's parents and sister did not even get cake. The to go boxes were for the dessert table. The cake was on a separate table across the venue, I don’t know how this got confused.
3. The guests were not allowed to pick what they want. When they tried to say they didn't want something on their plate the people told them they had to get it because that is what they are serving everyone. This was very rude and upset a lot of our guests. This is another reason we went with a buffet so people could actually get what they want on their plate.
4. Finally and most importantly. There was bacon in the green beans. I know we stressed how the groom’s family does not eat pork and on the contract it said green beans, no bacon. The last email on this thread clarified no bacon but there was bacon and because people could not say no green beans, people ended up with bacon on their plate. Furthermore, the groom ran out...literally ran out to tell the caterer there is bacon and to let people know. She said she would but after talking to guests, we were told she did not tell anyone the green beans had bacon. Again resulting in people eating pork who have dietary restrictions, including the groom's parents. This is very upsetting and we feel very badly we couldn't do more to stop it. But we trusted when she said she would tell people they had bacon.
We are supposed to be enjoying our time as newly weds and instead are finding out about all of these mishaps at the wedding. We would not have picked buffet if we knew it would be like this and not go with the style of wedding we were dreaming of.
Also, they were not dressed professionally and our wedding planner sent out communication stating our wedding was black tie.
On top of that, we used them the next day after our wedding for a brunch and spent another $700 at least with him so you would think I would at least deserve a reply to my email. But after we signed the contract for the wedding, it was harder and harder to get ahold of Alex.
Some people thought the food was good the day of. But those were people who are able to eat pork and our guests who didn’t know our expectations, as they didn’t have the tasting. They were not told they would be able to pick which part of the London Broil they wanted and they weren’t told they would be able to say no to some of the food and not have to take it all like we were in our meeting and over emails.
I would stay away from this vendor!

This was the best “wedding food” all of our guests RAVED, the next day we had a get together and everyone literally finished all of the food. We had zero left overs after that second day. We did a pork roll and chicken but our guests truly loved the roll as it was stuffed and just so so delicious, we knew it was going to blow everyone’s minds after our tasting we just had to have it. We had more than enough at our private dinner. They even made sure to pack us to go boxes to have dinner at the end of the night. 10/10
Sierra Catering is amazing!!! We recently had them cater our wedding and then our after party the next day. The owner, Alex is fantastic, he is a professional and it reflects all throughout is company from the amazing people he has working for him to the outstanding food he serves. We had so many compliments on how amazing the food was at both events. I highly recommend his stuffed pork loin with apricot glaze. We then had him serve street tacos the following day and the food was just delicious. His staff is professional and took care of everything from set up to break down and clean up. He personally showed up to our wedding to ensure everything was to his standards and everything was perfect, which it was. I would recommend Sierra Catering for any event you have, Alex and his team will take care of you.
