This was my first time eating here. I always find small local places and this place does not disappoint.
Waitress was super friendly. I had a burger and crinkle fries. One of the best burgers i’ve had. Definitely not frozen like most places. Today was Valentine’s Day they gave all of the ladies a long stemmed rose.

Hot Rodz is hands down my favorite restaurant. I live in San Antonio, but travel quite a bit. Any time I’m within an hour of Crandall, I make a point to stop in and enjoy a Club Salad with Italian Dressing. The atmosphere is always fun and lovely, and the food is second to none. I highly recommend stopping by and checking it out if you’re in the area.

Update: I also found a hair in the food and the girl on the phone said “well no one here has silver color hair “. I could also hear them talking about me while I was left on “hold” while she talked to a manger. The girl hung up on me and did not care at all that I heard them talking bad about me.I have never had such a bad experience being here. I did a to go order and the girl was not nice. She basically threw the food at me when it was done. When I brought up the fact that the hamburger steak was very dry and very small unlike it usually is she shrugged her shoulders and said that’s how it comes . Very disappointed

Very and I do mean very unprofessional and very rude first of all I came into the place instead of like a normal restaurant did no one greet me or nothing. No one said welcome or anything I sit there. I got my menu. I sit there for about 20 minutes, no one never came back and took my order Four other people came in right behind me got their menu. They greeted them and took their order as well. I don’t know if it was because of my color or what but it was ridiculous and I am very disappointed so yes, I will not be returning there because of my opinion this place is racist because everyone there was all white and no one even greeting me If I could leave zero stars, I would

A wonderful locally owned diner! All the food I've tried is perfectly done. Highly recommend the breakfast and chicken fried steak. Everyone is friendly, personable, and fun. Prices are better than the chains that try to duplicate this place.

We were hoping for a much better experience as the atmosphere & service were great. The food was a bit lacking. We had the build your burger, chicken fried steak and breakfast for dinner as they serve breakfast all day. The bacon on the breakfast plate appeared to have been from the morning crowd and the chicken fried steak was a bit salty. As for the burger…it was good other than the heavily toasted bun and the fries were lightly fried and not crisp. Would’ve been better if they buttered the bun before toasting but I digress. It’s reasonably priced and if you’re on a budget it’ll suffice, however the food isn’t what we expected from a nostalgic diner in a small town.
