The donuts were very good, especially the glazed and I loved the chocolate donut - tasted like abuelita chocolate! The conchas were good - solid, and everything else looked amazing. The only thing I didn't like was the marranitos... they left a bad after taste. But hey, you be your own judge! Other than that, I loved seeing the photos around the bakery, really adds a home feel.
Saw a video on Fork It! For their doughnuts 🍩 and even though I'm a fan of La Mexicana since I was little I had to give them a try and they were delicious. Fresh out of the oven bought them around 7:30 AM. Their chocolate doughnuts throw every doughnut out of the water. Big thanks to foodie Fork it! For the suggestion! Deliciousness for a buck 😋
We went for the 1st time to El Fenix and let me tell you the hype is very much true and the drive was totally worth it. I got there few minutes before noon and they still had some of the famous glazed donuts on display. While being helped with my order, I mentioned it was our 1st time to the bakery and the young woman who helped us gave us two free donuts as it as we were 1st timers. When she handed us our bag and two free donuts you could still feel the warmth of the perfectly...
