Overall horrible customer service! Next time don’t tell customers a chicken soup you order for pick up will take an hour!!! The fact that I get there and order was just about to be placed. And yet the restaurant was not full at all. No excuses! Never again!

Food was awesome, came out very fast from the kitchen. Service was fairly good, room for improvement, being English had a hard time communicating with the server and she missed a portion of our order. Would definitely recommend!

Some food was way over seasoned so I could not eat all of it. The portions are a good size but flavor was all over the place. Some items had no flavor (needed salt) and some had too much.

Wow what a fantastic Mexican Restaurant. They are family owned. The staff here is fantastic. Service is great. Our waiter was Russell. Their menu is vast. It was so hard to choose on our first visit. I had the taco salad and my wife had their tacos. She also had a Margarita on the rocks. The food came out hot and fresh. There was so much food on my wife's plate she brought over half of it home. The taco salad was great. Plenty of meat in it plus the bowl tasted good also. We tried their flan for dessert. We met Rosie and she told us how they started the restaurant and how it grew into what it is today. My wife enjoyed listening to her. We look forward to coming back to try more items on the menu.

****Edit ******they fixed the parking lot ✨✨✨*** Don’t judge a book by its cover . Obviously the owners need to put some attention outside, some landscaping and maybe fix the parking lot. The interior of the restaurant is welcoming and cozy ,you won’t find anything like it in the RGV . It’s TexMex. My family and I have been going to this restaurant just randomly for the past two yrs , mainly dine in . The chips and salsa are good . The unsweetened iced tea is the best . I get the cheese enchiladas and they are delicious. Idk why but it’s one of my favorite dishes here . I would say that this restaurant has a lot of potential if the outside was fixed but at the same time no because it’s never over packed so we always get a table quick and our food is always hot . It’s quite hidden, but this is one of the good restaurants out here in the RGV .

On 6/22/2025, I went to Trevinos to have some lunch with family members. It has been a while since I have come to Trevinos to eat. I usually really like the Tampiquena plate as it is tasty and well served. Today I ordered a Caldo Tlalpeno hoping that it was corrected from the last two times I have ordered before.. Caldo Tlalpeno is a spicy dish that originated in Tlalpan, Mexico City in the early 1900s, and contains shredded chicken, cheese, and vegetables but it is primarily known for it having the CHIPOTLE pepper for added spice, without the chipotle it is NOT considered a Tlalpeno soup. Needless to say, the last 3 times I have ordered it here it is missing the chipotle, it is very disappointing to me so I feel compelled to post a review on this. The chicken that is shredded and added should also not be smelly and should not have skin on it in this caldo. Trevinos has very delicious foods and the prices are fair but the quality and accuracy of their food should never be compromised. The 2 stars I gave to this plate is not a reflection of the overall food quality this place has, just this one plate that I love and would like to see fixed some day.

So I’ve Been here with my Tia before after Church but I took my girlfriend in with me on a date and we got racially profiled to be fair I don’t look black but I’m Mexican and black my girlfriend looks black but is also black and Mexican they made the experience so much different than last 3x I’ve been here could finish the food had to get it to go got my lady a margarita after a long and hard week we couldn’t even finish didn’t even try to take it off the ticket the waiter was so concerned about how old my girlfriend was she didn’t even get our order right she is 22 just has a vertical ID
