If you need a botana for a party or get together this is the place to go!! I bought 2 botanas; 1 for 6 people and 1 for 4 people. It was soooo much food. We had food leftover. We got one beef and one chicken and they were both DELICIOUS!!! And PLENTY of food with the rice, beans, tortillas, chips, and salsa. Definitely a botana to go!!!!! Hands down!!!!

It was good or so I thought because afterwards my stomach started to hurt meaning it didn't sit well in my stomach. It wasn't just me but also my husband didn't feel so good. Maybe it was the food or cross contamination of foods. Be careful.

We went for breakfast, asked for breakfast botanita, eggs over-easy, has half a cup of menudo, refried beans, small amount of onions and tomatoes chopped, Ok so got my plate. Was not pleased. 1. The eggs were over cooked, 2. the menudo was not hot, but lukewarm, 3. tomatoes were passed their expectation they had a funky smell. But! What really got to me was what I found on the tortilla. A hair! Ok so I paided for my meal. And I told the manager what I had founded his comment was it happens. It Happens! He did not offer to gives a discount . Or a coupon for next time, His comment to that was I used to do that, but it doesn't matter cause your never come back anyway. Does not deserve a Star!

I recall on one particular occasion during the lunch hour they had a special it was baked chicken with sides and a drink ....i was hungry,I love chicken and it seemed like a good deal. Let me say that when I was served it was absolutely disgusting! The chicken was raw!!!!! All the customers were complaining, there were many plates left full on the tables and it appeared that most of the people that had ordered the same special had just got up and walked off...i thought you know I'm not paying for this....i do not recommend this place ....well actually their breakfast was pretty good but lunch was atrocious....over all I do not recommend vaqueros! At least not for lunch...do yourselves a favor go to the moonlight cafe in edinburg it's so much better!

I don't know if the owners changed or just the name, but it is now called 281 Cafe. I had the cheese enchiladas. They were good but nothing to talk about. We went during lunch hour which was not a good idea. We had about 5 maybe 10 minutes to eat our food and that's because we worked a few blocks down the street. The place wasn't packed but the wait for the cashier to charge us was longer than the wait for the food. The rice and salsa with chips were pretty good though.

Food honestly really wasn't that great, I had the enchiladas de pollo and it was a little undercooked. Service was a little poor as some of the waiters were sitting at tables talking while we're were trying to ask for refills. It was completely awful, but I most definitely wouldn't eat here again.
