We were on our way to Galveston and getting ready to stop at the Ennis Buc-ees when we decided we wanted some lunch. A quick look at Yelp and Bailey's popped up as close by and a good rating. Plus, it wasn't some chain joint. So, we headed on over... Bailey's is the kind of place you find in a small, out of the way town. It's probably been there quite a while, which tells me that more than likely, the food will be good. And it was. It's definitely a rustic spot. Small and cozy...you aren't going here for the decor. Think 1970s small Texas diner. But the food...delish. From patty melt, burgers, club sandwich, to an enchilada plate, everyone in our party was impressed. And, the service was excellent. It appeared that it was only the server and the cook in the back who were making it all happen. Everything was handled quickly and efficiently. For a quick bite to eat in the Ennis area, consider giving Bailey's a try.

My partner and I recently went; A lovely family owned place. Good vibes, great music & a wonderful family friendly welcoming. Superb service. They're homemade food bursts with flavor! Must to go place to enjoy a date or family night.Thank you cooks for flavourful food, thank you waitress for your service and whom ever own the place she or he must be very kind to there workers to have a steady flow.

If you ever find yourself in Ennis around lunchtime, this place should not be missed. It's a small place so it is easy to pass by. So be on the lookout for it. Small hometown place. The Chicken Fried Steak was excellent! Sides were great. Super affordable. The service is great.

Have been wanting to try this cute little cafe and I'm so glad we finally did! We definitely will be back. I had the club and onion rings and my husband had the chicken fried steak sandwich. We also tried the coconut cream pie for dessert. WOW...it was all so delicious and homemade fresh. Great service and we definitely will be back!

I went here by myself about 3 weeks ago while my wife was out of town on a Friday nite.I live in another town close by and wanted Catfish. I picked Bailey’s from the reviews. The catfish then was Great, spicy somewhat and the whole piece was plump with a lite crust and very soft and thick on the inside. The Fried Okra was great and the Slaw was flavorful. I knew I wanted to bring my wife here.Flash forward to tonight to bring my wife here.Wish the Catfish would have been the same I Enjoyed. The 4 pieces they brought out were hot but were very thin and totally hard and over cooked. The ends were so thin they were turned to hard crust. So the first 4 pieces were turned into 2 pieces because of the waste you could not eat. Told them about it and they brought out 4 more pieces. They were hot but still Very thin and just moderately better. To me something totally changed in that 3 week period. Maybe new cook that does not know how to cook fish. Maybe management in hopes of saving money has now choose a new supplier that has cheaper, thinner fish. and Changed the batter recipe. High hopes turned into disappointment,Coleslaw was big chunks and flavorless. The star of the night was the great Fried Okra. My wife said her Turnip Greens were good. The Hush Puppies were totally uneatable has they were so over cooked the inside was totally hard.I MIGHT give them another chance some day.If you do decide to go for the Catfish hopefully your experience will be WAY better than mine !!
