Unfortunately, my recent dining experience was severely disappointing. Not only did the food not meet my expectations, but the service was also unfriendly. To make matters worse, I fell ill with food poisoning. There is significant room for improvement in both food quality and service standards.
One good thing… The food came out fairly quickly.

Not the Stricklands I remember going to as a young one with my Dad on road trips from RGV to SA. Used to have the best CFS! They have the same old school vibe inside but they need to Fix the sub-par salad and go back to drawing board on Chicken Fried Steak (maybe thicker cubed steaks). Must have had some changes over the years. I'd give it another chance though. Good people serving and timeless atmosphere.

Unprofessional and violation of our 2nd Amendment rights post video of us on social media for leaving before paying (family emergency) we paid $32.23 say later and we're told video would be removed as so as they got this little bit of money. *Nice way they run the establishment. We ordered brisket and we had different opinions on it. I say it was little bit dry and it could have been more tender like it was not from today, but the guys said it was very good! The portion was generous and the mashed potato was natural so I really liked it. I felt the green beans were a little overcooked and salty, but overall it was good. I would not recommend the cheesecake as it tasted dry and like it had been left on the fridge, uncovered. Staff was friendly, and the place was very clean.

Some of our food was not cooked on the same day. Some food should not be served a day or days after it was cooked because it doesn't taste very good. I could go on but honestly just go some where else.

Authentic S TX food and friendly service. Their chicken friend steak and gravy is perfect! The fish was delicious, too. I am eager to try more dishes on the menu at my new favorite place to eat!
Vegetarian options: Lots of veggie side options, fried mushrooms and pickles.
While the food was good, I had to listen to hate trump rhetoric on the liberal news station that was turned up loud. Perhaps a sports or hunting channel would be less offensive to some.
It was also the first time I’ve had hit gravy partially served on my salad. Not a fan!
