Got the corn beef hash and it tasted old, the biscuits and gravy were horrible. The biscuits didn’t taste cooked all the way and the gravy was cold. Also got a pecan waffle and it also didn’t taste all the way cooked and wasn’t light and fluffy. The eggs, hash browns and bacon were good. Probably will not return for breakfast again.

Highly recommend- called in an order and it was ready before they said it would be. Burgers are fire 100% recommend. I had to wait 20 mins to eat and the fries were still crunchy!!! The cafe has a really good country vibe to it to 10/10 staff was really nice as well

Heading back home to Houston, we found this spot to stop and eat, and the environment itself was comforting. The food was perfectly delicious, and I ate everything 😋 I wanted more but had to get back on the road home. If I ever come back this way, I'd definitely stop here again. Thank you, Vanessa, for a warm welcome she was a great waitress.

Javier’s Café was absolutely amazing! The ultimate skillet was delicious. And all of the staff working there were very nice. I would highly recommend this to anyone passing through.

My “grilled chicken” was an unseasoned piece of chicken jerky, measuring roughly 4 millimeters thick. Wtf? Is this a joke?
I also endured a side of flavorless mashed potatoes and canned beans nuked way too long in the microwave. They still burned when we got up to leave.
The upholstery on the chairs was stained and disgusting, and the table tops felt gross as well. No wonder they keep the lights down.
There was hardly any traffic during lunch, yet our waitress barely made her presence known - beyond giving us no time at all to decide what we wanted to order. It seemed like chatting in the back was a priority for the staff.
What a waste of a historic building.
