We’ve visited a handful of times before when we’re in town visiting family, and it’s usually a stop we look forward to, especially with the cute shop in the back. Unfortunately, this visit was very disappointing.
It took close to an hour to receive our food. When it arrived, the fries were cold and undercooked, and the lettuce on the burger was slimy. The kids’ meal didn’t come out until about 10 minutes after the adult meals, which made the long wait even more frustrating.
For four adult meals and one kids’ meal, the bill was around $90, which made the overall experience hard to justify. We were really hoping for better based on past visits.

We’ve been here a few times. The time we went and the owner was walking around - FABULOUS. TWENTY STARS. We went again today and the staff was very young and service was non-existent. No refills. No check ins. Just a group of teenagers picking each other up and laughing behind us near the bar. One young girl in a dress running her legs off was able to be flagged down and she coordinated some coffee and Diet Coke refills for us. The food is still superior (best salsa I’ve ever had!) and I hope today was an off day. We love the place and just offer this as kind feedback.
It's my fault for getting used to fast food breakfasts. Forgot what home cooked biscuits-n-gravy should taste like. Will return again with dreams of eating all 20 pancakes. Only hiccup was a missed opportunity to keep the coffee cup full. Saw my name tag on the restroom door in cursive (for those of you who cant read, it doesn't matter) and just wondered if they were expecting me.

Cute place. Food is pretty good. Pricey but what isn't these days? I'm not a fan of ordering and paying at the counter. Plus leaving a tip before you even know what service you'll get. So bring cash for tip. I would have liked a refill but it was never offered since you don't really have a wait staff. Plus you'd be asked for another tip. The atmosphere is nice.
Darlin's Diner is a great place to stop and get something to eat. Got there just before 10 on a Saturday and it was hopping. Not too long of a wait and watched the owner handle business really well! I got there a little earlier than my friend and I watched Taylor handle everything so professionally and made every guest feel so welcome! You could tell she loves what she does. Then you sit down to get some food, I got the Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit and has browns. SOO GOOD! My friend got the French toast, that was quite possibly the best French toast I've had! I hope to come back and visit again! If you're near the area definitely stop by!

Great spot on the way from San Antonio to Houston. Less than a mile off I-10. Great breakfast/lunch spot. Super nice staff and food was top notch and wife loved her Mimosa! Highly recommend.

Such a cute place with delicious food! We decided to stop for lunch along our drive and we had a wonderful lunch. Our table enjoyed the breakfast taco, mushroom burger, chicken fried steak, bacon Mac and cheese, and the mimosa flight - all so good! The service was great and an overall fun atmosphere.
