Charming dinner, the staff are super hospitable and the food was delicious. Really enjoyed learning the history of the building which has been so lovingly restored. Be sure to check out the boutique.

I always give a restaurant more than one opportunity to win me over, and today was my second visit at Darlins. This diner has such an incredibly sweet and inviting ambiance. But the service...oh my! There isn't one good thing I can say about the service. We arrived at 10:45am today for brunch. There were several open tables and we were sat approx 5-10 minutes after we arrived. We then waited for an additional 15 minute's and needed to flag a waitress down just to get a cup of coffee. The coffee arrived about 10 minutes later. At this point we have been at the diner for about 30 minutes and have just gotten coffee. After the coffee was delivered again we had to flag another waitress down to place a food order. Then we waited and waited. The food never came! At this point we have been at the restaurant for nearly 2 hours and still no food, no coffee refills, and no explanation. We asked someone how much longer we would be waiting after such a long wait and they actually said about another 30 minutes. Can you believe that?!?! We had to get up and walk out at 12:30pm. While waiting, we saw just about every single table need to flag down help and ask for how much longer the wait would be. So unfortunate, because I really wanted to love this place.

I don't typically write reviews. But the service was beyond slow and they got several orders wrong. One of the food orders had to be fixed 3 times. No one came to ask us for refills and anything we did need it took 20+ mins to get it. even just something simple like ketchup. The food took an hour and 20 mins to arrive. After bring this to their attention, we received dirty looks from all the staff for the rest of the vist. We were not the only ones feeling this in the restaurant, we watched a large table get up and leave before their food arrived because of the lack of attention from the servicer and how long everything took.

I try to stop at new restaurants in new cities in all my travels, so I’m glad I stopped here! Cute restaurant in Flatonia (a city I’ve never even been to) with a gift shop attached. I ordered at the counter in the center of the shop for brunch/lunch. She told me they weren’t serving breakfast anymore and I was quite sad about that. Hesitantly, I had to order a sandwich but there was a good selection of burgers and sandwiches. As I’m eating my sandwich, a lady that came in after me apparently ordered pancakes because I saw the same girl delivering her pancakes that told me breakfast was over, so that was a bit irritating. I guess certain people can still have breakfast whenever. At every table there is a flip book with lots of great info on the store and the owners and a super cool discount list! I’m sad to say I didn’t go into the gift shop because honestly, I forgot about it since the entry is closer to the back. I’ll try to remember for next time! Stop in here for a quick bite cause it’s super cute and yummy!

We visited with a group of 11 on a Sunday and met the owner. We were very impressed. The food was great and the small town atmosphere was on point, including the midday town siren. ? We'll stop again next time we're returning from the hill country. Thanks again for a great experience. ~Mike, Jeff (aka Whitney Houston), and family.

The ambience at Darlin's is adorable and inviting, however the food was quite expensive for the quality and amount. We were there a while ago and my husband ordered a side of toast to go with his country fried steak and eggs and he received one piece for $4.00 of store bought bread tossed in top of the rest of the order which came on a very small plate- very crowded. The service was very good and the building itself fit's the name as it is darling!

Beautiful restaurant physically. I really wanted to love this place. However it took 30 to 40 mins to get our food. Also the people that came after us got their food before us. I think they were catering to people that they know. It is also very expensive for the wait. I really wish someone would have let us know we would have to wait that long. I would not come back.
