Sleighride ‘25 and time to eat, I wanted a sausage link wrapped in bread, so I ordered their Sausage on a stick, cut in half (which made 2). It was tasty & satisfied my Super Ego! HoHoHo

This place gives Texas BBQ a bad name. This photo is the ‘regular size’ sliced beef sandwich. I expected a bun, but it was on two slices of dry white bread! Asked for pickles and onions on the side, but they were on the sandwich. Meat was tough and didn’t even cover the entire 2 slices of bread I had to spit some of it out because I couldn’t chew it. No flavor either. Was charged $.50 for a glass of water. Sandwich cost $7.10. BEEARE!

Never buy the lunch plate at Joels BBQ. It was 2x the cost of an $8.95 sandwich and you get more meat in the Sandwich than on the plate. The side portions were small enough to feed a 3 year old.
It was good, but not $17.00 good. Oh well! Tried something new.

Chopped beef sandwich and brisket did not taste good. Idk if it was the seasoning sauce. Chopped beef sandwich did not taste like beef at all. Will not eat here again.

If you want REAL pit smoked bbq, this is NOT the place to get it! This was absolutely the WORST "so-called" "BBQ" I have ever eaten in my 62 plus years of being on this earth! I got the 3 meat lunch plate with brisket, sausage, chicken, cole slaw, beans and an extra side of potato salad. While the potato salad, cole slaw and the beans were somewhat ok, the brisket, sausage, chicken and the bbq sauce were all horrible and almost unedible. In fact, the bbq sauce was unedible and I had to force myself to eat the so-called bbq. On top of that, the woman that took the order was a rude old huzzy! I will never ever eat there again! What a complete let down. 5 thumbs down all the way! 👎👎👎👎👎 😠😠😠😠😠

Horrible experience. Food was terrible and so was service. It was like they didn’t even care. We spent $49 on three people and couldn’t even eat food. What we did eat, we got sick from. I wouldn’t even give one star but I think I have to. Will never go back.

Came through today requested 1/2 pound of moist brisket cut into chunks for easy eating while traveling plus sausage. Woman at the counter told the guy in the back what I ordered. I couldn’t hear him but apparently my request was odd to him. All I saw was her shrug her shoulders and throw up her hands a bit. RIGHT at that moment I almost cancelled and left but I stuck it out. I asked her if there was a problem with my order. She said no. I got my food and down the road my first taste … and I swear I’ll never ignore my first inclination to leave ever again. Tasteless brisket. What “bark” on it was bitter and unseasoned. The sausage had a mushy center and not one piece of meat was hot. Lukewarm at best. I pray I don’t get sick tonight.

Tried the brisket and it was very tough and dry. It didn't pass the pull test. Sausage and ribs were also dry as well. I was given two small pieces of ribs and 5 small little slices of brisket. Beans and potatoe salad were ok. Wish there were more sides to choose from. Wouldn't recommend.

The guy at the cash register was very rude, short and arrogant. He would not offer any information about the menu you could tell he didn’t want to be there and he severely lacks people skills. The food was not good at all it had smoke flavor but no seasoning. I will not ever eat here again.

Been coming here since I was about 10 years old. About darn time I left a review. This is a quintessential Texas barbecue restaurant. Get the chopped beef sandwich, pickles and onions. The jerky is fantastic, as well, and I recommend setting aside even just five minutes to eat your sandwich in the restaurant; the ambience is old school BBQ joint awesome.

A family-owned and operated establishment, the quintessential check German barbecue heritage for the area. I've been going here since before it was a thing.
