I’ve been in there 4 different times and mostly with my 81 year old mother. Portions are small on the daily special and the attitudes of the workers are rude. You have to get up and go find your silverware etc. Not enough signage telling a person what to do. No one has any customer friendly personality in the place. The food is good but the service is the worst around.

We stayed at The Lodge on the Square over Memorial Day Weekend. We walked over to The Windmill Cafe, on Sunday, for Lunch. It did not disappoint! The BEST Burgers and sides! Super cute decor and very friendly staff. We loved it. We will definitely be back when we are down that way again. Very impressed with everything about The Frankston Square. It is obvious much has been done to revitalize the area. Such a sweet town. Shaye Segovia Vega, Texas (sweet little town 30 miles W of Amarillo)

This was my first time going to this establishment and it certainly won't be my last. I ordered the chicken fried steak with cowboy beans and mashed potatoes. It was delicious. It was cooked perfectly and those cowboy beans were delicious, could have made a meal on those alone. The gravy was nice and thick. I also ordered to go for my son their I think it's called hot tot potato. It's a huge baked potato with brisket and hot links and cheese. Looked so good.

Very charming local restaurant in Frankston. Seems to be the center of the community. Very diverse menu. The chicken fried steak sandwich may be the best chicken fried steak I've had in quite some time. The Texas Mac & Cheese is the perfect amount of Mac & Cheese, brisket and bacon. The burgers taste freshly made and the fries are good. There are also many different coffee options. Can't wait to try the catfish and breakfast. The start is very friendly and helpful.

It was just ok. Husband got the windmill burger with potato salad and I got the roasted garlic burger with fries. The burgers tasted good but were pretty small compared to the size of the bun. The potato salad was alright, nothing noteworthy. The fries were just floppy and not crispy at all, but maybe that’s how some people like their fries idk. I was starving so I ate it rather than send them back. Again, burgers were good. Cute atmosphere. I just felt the food was got was meh compared to the reviews we read. I left feeling like I could have had an equally good burger from Sonic or WAB. If I came back I would try the salads or the queso.

This place is awesome! The food is always great. You cannot go wrong eating here. I drive a truck over the road and eat at thousands of restaurants. This one is in my top 30 and believe me I give accurate reviews. I want to thank the people at Windmill for doing such a great job. You guys deserve an award for the greatest food in East Texas.

I only get out here every few years but the Windmill has had great food and service every time we come in. My Grandparents live in the area and eat here regularly. Even if they do not go out they'll have someone pick it up for takeout. This is the place many locals go so you know they have the better food in the area. In fact, I'm probably heading there tonight for dinner. Now the trick is to figure out what to order.

Had the pleasure of trying out The Windmill Cafe in Frankston. We got the Pablo burger & black and blue burger and they were both AMAZING! The owners son stopped and spoke with us once he heard we were from Winona and visited with us for a bit and it was just an overall great experience! Will definitely be returning to try different things.

Oh. My. Goodness. This is the best chicken salad sandwich I’ve ever had and the onion rings are off the hook. This is my second time here - before had the bacon Mac n cheese. This place is worth a drive just to eat here - seriously good

Great Breakfast. Ordered the Breakfast Sampler and a side of cream sausage gravy. Out of all the places we have been the gravy is the best. Potatoes seasoned perfectly. Did not have to add anything to the grits which is very unusual. Bacon and sausage just as delish. Ham was good, just not a big ham person unless it is in a pot of beans. Scrambled eggs were soft and fluffy. Buscuit is big and has a good flavor. We will definitely be going back.

Just tried this place for the first time and it was awesome! Great food and awesome service! We had elderly parents with us and they seated us at a table and waited our table! (You typically go through a line).

My wife and I went there for lunch. I had chicken fried steak, French fries, and pinto beans. My wife had chicken fried pork chop, french fries, and okra. The food and service was awesome. Probably the best chicken fried steak I’ve had. The staff was the most friendly and attentive that I have seen. Atmosphere is awesome as well. We drove over an hour to dine there. Will not hesitate to go back.

This is not a joke. I had an opportunity to dine at Windmill Cafe several times and try their salads (chicken and brisket), BBQ - truly some of the best - turkey is amazing, best smoked turkey I have had and of course their famous burgers and blue plates. I have to say burgers ?received the highest prize, that is my recommendation unless you just want to pig out on some quality BBQ selection. Their pies are the perfect sweet treat to make you think when you can come back again. + it has a full espresso ☕️ bar! Who does that in BBQ - home cooking restaurant! Totally amazing. I haven’t tried their breakfast yet, you have to have something to look forward to…
