Crosswords Cafe is located just a block off Route 59 in Freer, across from a park and next to an old church - great place to try for travelers. The atmosphere is laid back and friendly and both owners took the time to say hi, answer any questions and make sure we had everything we needed The blue cheese burger with bacon bits and fried onions was outstanding and i would definitely return to try other selections as well

Great homemade food! Everything on the menu looks delicious! Has the chicken fried chicken and it was mouthwatering! Breading was crispy, gravy had a great taste, chicken was soft and juicy. Can’t wait for another trip so I can stop there to eat again!

We drove through Freer and decided to stop for dinner. Crossroads was worth it. I've been looking for a chicken fried steak for months. This has been the best one in a long while. The sweet potato fries were delish too! My niece had the homemade chicken fried chicken. It was juicy and tender. We wanted to try the 956 burger and a few other things on the menu. We're thinking the detour will be worth it on a future trip.
Great place to eat and make new friends. Great people the owners are. If you're there, the food is great. All around home away atmosphere. The Buckaroo burger is delicious, and the spicy cheese bits appetizers great.
