Decent hole- in -the- wall chinese food.

Very small dining room, clean and bright. Friendly wait staff. Quite a varied menu. It seems they have more take out than eat in. We ate in. I ordered shrimp fried rice and my husband ordered pork egg foo yung. Everything is ala carte. That said it can be pricey for very basic food. The rice is $6.95 and consists of rice, tiny overcooked shrimps, green peas and a few diced carrots. Edible but not very enjoyable. The pork egg fu yung was $8.25 and didn't have enough pork to be named pork. The sauce was good. With all the other eateries in the area, we will probably not be back.

The food was awful. I regularly eat school cafeteria food with no complaint, so you understand that I don't have a particularly choosy palate, but this food tasted OLD. The flavor of the pork noodles was not good, the pork itself was foul--even the smell was bad. They had to have known it was bad when they were packaging it. I'm all for supporting local businesses, but this restaurant doesn't deserve your patronage.

When you spend 40 bucks on a Door Dash order and it has chicken chow mein in that order you should not forget to add the chow mein noodles. It's not like I can eat the chow mein without the noodles.

Excellent!! The best in this area and I've tried them all no joke... I eat here often. The best egg rolls anywhere across the country and I've tried them coast to coast! The kitchen is old and well used but clean and the owners/staff are always friendly. The portions are large and always made to order with fresh ingredients and they never skimp on the protein. I have never had any of the negative issue's reported in some of these reviews and frankly I believe them to be intentionally malicious and false. They have been around a long time which wouldn't be possible if these reports were actually true...

China Chef has been a long time family favorite for quick Chinese food in Friendswood. This place has been here for as long as I can remember, and everyone in Friendswood knows about this place. Going inside, it's a very minimal, simple looking restaurant, but they put all the work into their food and nothing else. The food always comes out PIPING HOT and fresh whether you eat in or to go. And they even do catering, if you're looking to order big trays of food for parties or get togethers. Some of my favorites are their famous Chinese style wings, beef lo mein, general tso chicken, spicy beef, or their shrimp in lobster sauce. But no matter what you order, you're definitely in for some quality yet quick Chinese food. Everything is cooked with love, from a family that really cares for the Friendswood community, it really shows in their food. My only suggestion to them is to maybe update their restaurant look a bit. It's definitely a bit old looking and I'm sure more people would dine in if they made a couple small renovations.

This place was good but it had gone down hill. The hot and sour soup was bad, the wontons were doughy, and fried rice was very bland. I will not be back.

We would recommend this place to everyone... The service was phenomenal. The food exceeded all our expectations for authentic Chinese food. If you have been looking for a great laid back place to dine in or carry out with exceptional food try this place...We ordered chicken lo mein(veggie still have a crunch😍)famous wings(fried then sautéed) sweet and sour chicken(delicious and moist) and chicken fried rice(The Best). Our first time visiting and definitely not the last.

I got their lunch special yesterday and I thought of lo mein and I've Been vomiting and had heavy diarrhea every since I've ate there and this was the first time I've ever ate there

Ordered from this place last night for the first time. I have to say the other reviews are very misleading. It was absolutely disgusting. Besides the egg rolls (which were actually some of the better tasting egg rolls I've had from a Chinese place) my chicken tasted spoiled and the fried rice tasted like it had been sitting under the heat lamp all day long. The rib that came with it was very tough! Prices are average. Never ordering from here again👎

Always great food. The eggrolls are the best in the area.
