Whiskey Cake Kitchen & Bar

My husband is a bourbon enthusiast, so this was a great place to celebrate his birthday. The Whiskey Cake is a MUST every time! So good!

Nice, peaceful atmosphere with above average food options. The drinks were delicious and stylish too.

I have never had a bad experience here. I love it more each time. The food and service are excellent! Our server this time was absolutely awesome! The duck wings are my favorite things! Please keep up the great work!

This was a last minute plan and I was happy I was able to book on OpenTable. Our server was outstanding. the food was delicious! We both ordered appetizers so we decided to share the Tavern burger. They did the courtesy of splitting it for us and placed it on plates. Usual other places we have to ask for extra plates and split it ourselves. That was the highlight of our experience.

It was a great experience but the waiter could have been a little more knowledgeable about the menu choices. I order what I thought was a wine flight, he thought it was a wine flight as well but sadly it was not. It was a whiskey flight and the whiskey was in wine barrels. My friend ended up drinking it but there shouldn't have been that awkward moment of whether or not y'all would take it back, so my friend felt obligated to drink it.

One of the nicer places in Clear Lake for a nice drink/cocktail and a rotating seasonal menu. Professional and polite service is consistent for me and nice atmosphere.

Food was EXCELLENT we have eaten at other Whiskey Cake Kitchens in other parts of the Houston Metroplex and they all have delivered on food atmosphere and service.

The food was not very good. Service was slow. We went at lunch time and had 2 cocktails, an appetizer, and split an entre. The bill was $75 and both of us had upset stomachs after. We had the deviled eggs and shepherds pie. Both were just ok.

It gets dark at night and the candles make me nervous. But it's a popular hang out spot and the sound levels are good. The waitstaff are VERY nice even if you need to request changes. The staff is attentive and kind and has a good sense of humor. The ice cream on the whiskey cake is delicious, the burgers are juicy and not overcooked. The fries are good, and if you don't like the seasoning you can ask and they'll leave it off for you. Overall, recommend checking the place out, but if you want to take pictures and stuff, better to go during daylight hours.

*Update (12/12/2024) I spoke with a manager about our situation, and I'm extremely thankful for her understanding and kindness. She apologized and stressed that Whiskey Cake has high standards for how they treat their customers.

(12/05/2024) We visited your Clear Lake location and enjoyed the delicious food and excellent service from your wait staff. Unfortunately, our experience at the end was screwed by the behavior of the hostess who took our group photo.
When we requested a retake of the photo, as our out-of-town guest was unsatisfied with the initial results, the hostess displayed a clear lack of enthusiasm and professionalism. Her eye-rolling and negative body language were quite noticeable.

Don't ask for a photo from the hostess!
