Passing through town yesterday, I stopped in to eat and was encouraged to browse the mercantile next door in the coffee shop. I ended up leaving without spending much after realizing the restaurant/mercantile is actively promoting a book that glorifies an affair with a married local man.
That kind of thing isn’t bold or artistic to me — it’s just gross. As a traveler, it immediately changed how I felt about the place and whether it deserved my money.
I won’t be back and wouldn’t recommend it to other travelers who care about where they spend their dollars.
On Saturday nights you can get the best steak around. Grilled to perfection, tender, and packed full of flavor. Add in live music and yummy cocktails, and it’s the kind of place you want to stay awhile. A true local gem!

If you want quality food that isn't overpriced Southside is the place to go! Generous and flavorful food. Something for everyone here. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Always has new food and specials to try. Best chicken friend steak and steaks in town! Wide variety of drinks alcoholic and non at very reasonable prices.

Food was really good, 1 server was handling the whole restaurant. Nastiest heavy metal rock music playing the whole time even after asking server to change the music.

In a small town like this from where this lovely Tavern is from it's a very almost West Texas rustic feel, with plenty of good food good choices of liquor and plenty are enticing atmosphere to go around. Especially when it's coupled with excellent service which is both warming and excellent and execution, this place is definitely a place where folks need to go to a little bit more since it seems it's a little bit tucked away. From their wings to their burgers you can't seem to go wrong, although we didn't have any of the drinks perhaps next time create all in all this place is one of those places that I'll never forget and will always go out of my way to go to 😎

Got to check out Southside Tavern during our long drive. Prices were a little steep for a small town restaurant but the plates were big and super filling. They definitely didn’t skimp out on the portions! The wait time was really long to get our food but they do have it on the menu that their wait times are longer than normal due to making everything fresh. Thankfully we were not in a rush, I wouldn’t recommend it if you are wanting to be in and out. Our starter was the garlic cheese curds, I’ll give them a 8/10. My son got a bacon cheddar burger and gave it a 8/10, my husband got the road runner and gave it a 9/10 and I got the juicy pig sliders (I think that’s the name not 100%sure) and I’ll give them a 7/10. My only complaint about the sliders was that the pulled pork was a little more on the drier side. Overall it was good and we had a great experience. Our waitress was super friendly, attentive and answered any questions we had about the menu. We spent $76 for all 4 dishes and 2 soft drinks.
