Big tree with interesting past story. Glad they had a plaque.
We parked in front of the tree to eat lunch while our baby napped in the car seat. Very interesting historical markers!
Historical Goliad Hanging tree
Little creepy but interesting
It's a tree. Look at it.
The history here, not only with the hanging tree and courthouse, but the buildings surrounding it is worth visiting and learning about.
Great historic place
Located in front of the majestic Goliad Courthouse Square in Goliad Texas.
Right across the street from The Soul Emporium!
Visit Goliad the second Weekend of each month for Market Days when the square is surrounded by independent vendors, there is something for everyone.
Our little town is pretty magical! ✨
Famous large Oak Tree famous for lending her thick and ready branches for “efficient” 19th century frontier justice.
Morbid, yet interesting, bit of Texas history. Goliad is a wonderful place to visit.

We saw this one while touring the courthouse square. Very beautiful tree. My wife and I were told that they have a market day on the 2nd Saturday of each month with vendor booths surrounding the courthouse. Cool!
Was at Goliad market day. Lots of great vendors. Come check out BD Jewelry if you like stainless steel. Market days are second Saturday of the month
Tree should be cut down
Great place to walk around and see the sights.
Interesting to notice that the hangings were not ordered by the court. The tree is amazing though. From an angle it looks like the deer's horns.
