Big daddy's has turned from the usual burger and fries Place to a Mexican cantina. The difference is that the cook/chef is from Veracruz and produces some very authentic and very good Mexican food. The street tacos are very good. They have also obtained a liquor license and no have happy hour. If you want to sit outside with a marina view, have some really good Mexican food and a margarita that is well priced, come to big daddy's.

I've always felt this place has so much potential. Was excited to hear that they had a bar. However, the drink menu was very limited, and they didn't really have decent bar staff- drinks sucked basically. As for the food, it's Taco Bueno quality. They were out on a few menu items (burgers, tortillachips, etc.) when we tried to order. Service was terrible. We waited over an hour for the food. It showed up just after we asked to cancel our order.I'm sorry for the new owners. This place isn't going to make it - very poor management. Hopefully, the next owners will figure out what great potential this place could have.

Portion sizes are ridiculously small (see photo of the “full size nachos” with 8 chips and tiny pieces of chicken. Also, they didn’t have more than half their menu available. Also charged us $3 for a teeny kids drink. No apologies either- just excuses. So disappointing.

We wanted to try something new, and thought sitting out by the water would be nice. We waited at the entrance and nobody ever greeted us, despite the sign saying to wait and that a host would seat us. I went in and found someone. The server was nice and made sure we had what we needed. The food, though, was terrible. The portions were ridiculously small, and it took over an hour for four dishes with no modifications. I ordered a burrito bowl, and it was literally the size of my hand. It didn’t taste bad, but it was nothing special. The fajita plate for two was horribly portioned, too. There wasn’t actually enough for two people.Overall very disappointed.

I had one bite of the burger and have serious indigestion due to the smoke flavor they apparently use generously. It’s terrible! the chicken nachos 1/2 order are decent but only 4 pcs. I ordered a modelo and they serve it in the can and it’s not ice cold/ neither of them were. Too bad they don’t serve in bottles. Very dissatisfied. But the ambiance is so nice!!

I have been coming to Big Daddy’s for ages. Since the turn over and remodel I have eaten here twice. The bartender is fantastic. She was so personable and kind! I will say that the wait service is sub par though. I waited for over 15 minutes to get menus and just be greeted. I watched other tables get service numerous times and even approached a young man to ask for menus and to order and finally, went into the bartender. She apologized profusely and took our order right away. The food was okay, I ordered the taco salad, but had to pick out the wilted pieces of gummy lettuce which honestly turned me off from the salad a bit just because of the slime. I understand lettuce can be tricky, but when it is wilted spinach sticking to everything it made me feel icky. The fajita beef was pretty good, but I think it should be cut into pieces appropriate for a salad since it is hard to cut through the beef in a shell without making a mess… I understand working in an environment where staff is mostly kids, but when you are charging marina prices for food and service I would hope the kids are attentive and prompt. I will of course be back! I appreciate Big Daddy’s and the location is a frequent spot of mine. I think it would almost be best for people to only order online - the napkin holders only have the QR code on one side so if it is not turned toward you upon sitting, you have no idea it is an option! I am hoping when summer is in full swing, hot dogs and single burgers come back - true grab and go lake and boat food and snacks. I am loving the margs - she makes fantastic drinks and greatly appreciate the water dispenser. Cheers, keep up the hard work! I’m sure with some minor tweaks everything will be great. Also, I think the chicken wire should be ditched completely.

Let me start out by saying that we really thought we had found our little oasis here at the cantina. They have great margaritas, food and the atmosphere is very relaxing. The wait staff are amazing. We have been coming here 2 or 3 times a week since the week before their grand opening and have met some really nice people. That all ended last Monday. See attached video. We have encountered this group on at least 3 separate occasions and each time the noise level has increased. This went on for over an hour with them chasing each other around the tables yelling and screaming. They eventually came over by our table, and I told them don't do that here to go back over there. The lady at the table next to us even thanked us for speaking up. We'll about 10 minutes later one of the mothers came over to us and says " don't ever talked to my child again, if I have something to say, say it to her. A few words were exchanged and she left. About 10 minutes later this guy comes over to me and says " I understand you don't like children and starts giving me a hard time about engaging with the children and their mothers and then leaves. I thought he was part of the management. Then we realized that he is the husband of one of the mothers. Then the manager Amanda comes over and starts insinuating that we are the problem and then tells us that the guy told her that he was going to confront us while she hid inside. The only conclusion we could come to is that these are friends of the owner and they believe this behavior is OK. Well, we disagree and will not give our money to an establishment that has no respect for their customers. I guess our little oasis turned into a mirage. I waited 3 days before posting this thinking that some of the anger would subside but just the opposite. Thanks, but No thanks! (Done)

Visited for the 1st time and I think it could use some work! Burgers tasted like they were frozen patties and thrown on a grill. Salsa was thin and watered down. Margaritas had a very artificial lime taste. Our service was great and the atmosphere was good. I’d consider revisiting after they’ve been open for a while to compare.

We had a nice casual dinner on the dock on such a beautiful evening. Our server was Paxton and he was an extremely good server: very attentive and quick. We had a great time: thank you. Can't wait to come back again.

Pretty good food. The salsa is somewhat spicy. The food is good but not outstanding..of course nice views at grapevine lake. I had a pretty small watermelon margarita for 15. Just a bit too sweet.

I had high hopes for this place and went to support their reopening. I did like the patio seating but the food could have been better. I wanted it to be, it looked good but it had no flavor. We ordered a burger with fries, tacos and a steak quesadilla and chips and salsa. We had to add salt to the salsa and we all had to add salt to our food and we usually don’t. Our friends that joined us also mentioned their food not having flavor. We also weren’t aware that we were being charged 3.00 per refill of sweet tea and sodas. Our waiter apologized for not mentioning it. Maybe we went on a bad night.
