My family and I visited Café Italia for lunch, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. To begin with, the flavors of the dishes were underwhelming; nearly every item we ordered was excessively salty and lacked depth of flavor.
What disappointed me most, however, was the handling of the children’s menu policy. The menu clearly states that any entrée may be ordered for children at half the portion and half the price. As we have a five-year-old and a seven-year-old, this seemed ideal. For our children, we ordered the Chicken Balsamic, priced at $15.95 on the lunch menu, and the Linguine with Clams, priced at $16.95—both listed at regular menu prices.
Our server initially hesitated and said she needed to confirm whether the half-portion option was available for those entrées. She later returned and assured us that it was. However, when the check arrived, both children’s entrées were charged at $14.99 each, with the prices handwritten on the receipt. When I questioned why the children’s meals were not charged at half price as stated on the menu, the server explained that we were given nearly full portions, and therefore the price was not reduced. She then proceeded to justify this by discussing rising food and ingredient costs, which was irrelevant to the clearly stated menu policy.
I find it difficult to understand how this restaurant maintains such high reviews. As a flight attendant who travels frequently and dines at restaurants around the world, I can confidently say that this was one of the worst Italian dining experiences I have had. The service was extremely poor, and I do not appreciate being misled. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Came on a Friday night and it was busy but looked to be properly staffed. Waited 15 minutes without being greeted before finally being sat.
Sat another 30 minutes while multiple servers passed our table and ignored us before we finally left to go somewhere else.
Couldn’t tell you about the food or drinks because we weren’t offered either. Will not be back.

We’ve been coming here almost once a week for years. It is truly the best place all around. Food is absolutely delicious and it’s BYOB. We’ve tried alot but our favorites are anything with the vodka sauce, lasagna, and chicken rollatini.

Best eggplant ever! Great service. The only negative is they have a lot of tables crammed in this restaurant. It was still an outstanding experience, though if you're wanting fabulous Italian food, I highly recommend.
