Zeke was our server (again), and he went above and beyond, making us feel right at home. Food was terrific, as always. Husband had the Kansas Steak, I had the filet steak, (both cooked to perfection) and kids both got the salmon. The star of the night were the Truffle Fries and Mac and Cheese. Don't forget to order that if your kids are under 15.. they'll love it!

We love to dine here. The service, food, and attention to details is always spectacular. Before I book a room , I book a reservation. We cannot wait to return!

Impeccable service and even better food! Forget that it's inside the massive Gaylord hotel - this is worth it even if you're not staying in the hotel.

My actual dinner experience for my anniversary was excellent. But unfortunately I used the open table app to make my reservation for dinner. When I did, it stated in order to make my reservation I had to select the NYE event and buy tickets. Since I know that some restaurants do special NYE menus I assumed this was the reason. I paid for 2 for NYE. I was later contacted by the bar for the tickets I purchased who informed me I did not have dinner reservations, but that they would make them for me (open table said I had a reservation for 2 at old hickory). When we arrived, the $150 I paid for the NYE event stated it included valet parking, Valet told us they were full and could not park our car. We drove down to the garage for self parking and had to walk back for our dinner reservation. Thankfully, the restaurant validates parking or we would have had to pay for self parking ($40). When we finished dinner (server and food was excellent) we started the scavenger hunt for Dusk where I had been forced to buy tickets for without getting the stated dinner reservation through open table. When we found it, the band played 2 songs, counted down for NYE, and thanked us for coming. Maybe 15 mins of I'm being generous. I guess it's a good thing there wasn't time to dance, since I had to walk back to our car in self parking - so my feet didn't hurt - especially since our 15 mins there only gave me time to purchase one drink, and had a sip of my “complementary” champagne (aka $75/glass of champagne... and we're not talking Dawn Perrion). Overall - I'd book anything at the Gaylord through the Gaylord in the future. I feel like open table swindled me out of money for something they couldn't provide despite staying that's what they offered. It's not Old Hickory, hence the positive review, but if this review was strictly for open table I'd give it -150 out of 5 stars... since that's the money I spent without return.

I rarely go out of my way to talk to a manager and complain about restaurant annoyances, but I did voice my concerns to David, the general manager at the restaurant because the New Year's Eve experience was supposed to feel like a special event. Long story short, we are extremely satisfied with the actions David took and the resolution to our concerns. He actually reached out again two days later just to be sure we knew how he had taken care of the problems we had experienced. The food has always fabulous! The service is consistently well above par. Old Hickory is truly a special place and one of our favorite steakhouses in DFW area. Because of the true leadership of the Manager David, who proved that he really cared and does value his loyal customers, we will keep coming here for special date nights, birthday dinners, and so forth. I do hope the management at the Gaylord Texan recognizes David for bending over backwards to ensure no customer leaves the restaurant less than well-satisfied. He exemplifies “customer service.” So nice to see there is still some good old-fashioned leadership in the workplace and a desire to make things right and counsel staff when a hiccup occurs.

The service was great! I got the filet and it was so juicy and tender! The Mac and cheese was delicious as a side. The lobster bisque was also very good.

The entire staff was genuinely helpful and kind. The food was top notch and well worth the expense.

Reservation was at 1 pm and we were seated at exactly 1 pm. The Christmas buffet was overwhelming, but the food was delicious. So much to choose from and wanted to try everything, but didn't. Everything we ate was amazing

Everything was excellent! The food, the service and the atmosphere exceeded my expectations. Easily the best quality buffet I've ever enjoyed. Thanks

By far the BEST holiday brunch I've ever been too. It's now going to be a new tradition for Christmas Day. Everything was so fresh and delicious. The Beef Wellington, prime rib and seafoods offered were outstanding. Yes, a bit pricey but worth every penny. Five Star experience.

Everything was great at the restaurant food staff and ambiance. One issue was not knowing we needed to validate our valet ticket before we left the restaurant

Making a reservation is not a guarantee that you will be sat at that time. After a 20 min delay and being led to a half empty dining room, we were greeted by a very nice “assistant server” who we didn't see again after getting our bottle of sparkling water. Our main server was very nice when he did stop by. The lobster bisque was tasty though not a traditional style. The Cesar salad, which I added grilled shrimp to, was absolutely beautiful BUT had hundreds of pink peppercorns mixed in. They were overwhelming everything else and made the salad not enjoyable. The lamb rack was the most disappointing dish. It is NOT in fact a rack of lamb as the name would have you believe. It's two lamb chops caked in a seasoning blend that overpower the meat itself. For $68 a rack of lamb should be just that... a rack. When the waiter was asked about it he said it's a half a rack. Unfortunately the experience was one I would not recommend others to have. Sad because it has great potential and a nice atmosphere.

Despite having issues with their kitchen computer our overall experience was great. Because of the computer glitch we were offered complimentary champagne and dessert.
