I have been following this business since they were in their food truck. I was finally able to visit for lunch with my coworkers, last Friday and we loved our experience!!! We ordered a family style meal that included Brisket, Pastrami Brisket, Chipotle Cheddar sausage, Smoked chicken, Mac & Cheese, Potato salad, Beans, Cucumber salad, Chips & Queso, Texas Toast,
and of course their delicious BBQ sauce! The food was better than I could have ever imagined! It was carefully crafted and cooked to perfection! Hard to choose a favorite because everything was delicious!!! The owner Trey, even served up some of our sides and he had a nice chat with our group,as we went through the line! The employees were very polite, respectful, and friendly! We even got to tour the Smoke Pit Room!! Pit master Josh was very knowledgeable and passionate about the hard work and love put into every aspect of their meats and sides! I will definitely be returning again soon and bringing some family that is visiting from out of town! I absolutely recommend, and if there is a long line, be patient….If it wasn’t worth it, there wouldn’t be a line 😉

Fantastic! I've always made it a point to try BBQ different places around the country. Every city in every state does something a little different from the seasoning to the sauce. This is a hidden gem to me. Nice flavors on the meat, sauce was subtle and not too over powering.
The brisket, in my humble opinion, was the best, but my father would be willing to fight someone for the ribs. Kids went straight for the mac and cheese and slaw. Boyfriend loves the nachos and then there's the tacos...
A little something for everyone here. And that's just food!
Really nice layout inside. Plenty of room for larger crowds, family, or a lunch rush. The service was fast and people were super friendly. Lots of choices on the menu. Choose wisely, you may find yourself addicted!

Made a detour on a whim and talked with the about a good decision. I got a half pound of brisket, quarter turkey, quarter ribs, some mac, banana pudding, a carnitas taco and Cochinita pibil. Brisket was cooked perfectly. The turkey was A1. Ribs had a bit too much bite to em, great flavor, but “pork choppy” if you will. An extra hour may do em good.
Now the stars on the plate are them dang tacos. Im addicted. I live in Waco but would drive up without a second thought to eat here again.

I think I’m a pretty good smoker of meats. I was totally humbled here. The owner asked if it was good. My top rating is, I wanted to throw in on the floor and roll in it. WOW, it was that good. Go on Saturday and get the beef ribs. So Super moist and tasty, I forgot to put their sauce on it. There were 8 of us, we all had something different and everyone loved what they had. I’ll be back!

Third Friday night to eat here. We came for the good music by Gabe Logan and discovered there is no better BBQ. Met the chef/cook and toured the BBQ smoke room. This is a serious BBQ restaurant. Gabe is a wonderful guitarist and musician.

I get to the DFW area every 3 months on business. My location is usually to a different quarter of the Metroplex each visit - but regardless of what side I’m dispatched to I will fit in a stop at Vaqueros each time if at all possible. I could write paragraphs about why, but to keep it simple I’ll list only 2 simple points: 1.) You won’t find better. 2.) You won’t be disappointed. Bottom line is you will be doing yourself a disservice if you don’t give Vaqueros a try!

Brisket is hit and miss with most BBQ'. operations and this was not my favorite brisket experience. Other than that, the hot links were fire, sides were excellent! I wish I could have been in town on a weekend because the Porkbelly burnt ends are highly recommended, but not available on weekdays.

We’re not from this area of DFW and came to Watters Creek to eat at a different restaurant that had awesome reviews on Google, and when we parked, we literally followed our noses to Vaqueros instead. Their food did not disappoint one bit!! Their brisket was perfect, and their sides are so flavorful. We had cucumber salad and Mac n cheese. Don’t walk, run, to vaqueros.

I went to Vaqueros for lunch and ordered the brisket and cheese sausage. The brisket was pretty dry, and the cheese in the sausage wasn’t even melted, which was disappointing. The BBQ sauce, though, was really good, nice balance of sweet and spicy that helped bring some flavor to the meal. I ordered the Mac n Cheese and was told it would be a 15min wait when in reality it was a 30+min wait. When i asked the cashier for an update her response was “sorry i forgot”. Overall i compare it to a dickies/rudys at best.
