My wife and I have eaten here several times. They have a good menu selection and they will allow you to order off the menu if you have something you are craving .The food has more of an authentic Mexican flavor than Tex Mex.Definitely worth a try if you are in town.

I cannot rave enough about this local spot here in Blanco, Texas. We as a family used to go to the El Agave in Johnson City and were elated when the second location opened in Blanco. We had another place that is open right across the street that was and is very hit or miss and El Agave is always on point. I have done drive-thru tacos and sit in dinner and it is always delicious. I am a huge fan of their asada a la mexicana and pretty much all the food is savory and delicious. I have never had the adult drinks but I hear they are tasty as well. I have had the carne guisada which I highly recommend. I was not a huge fan of the barbacoa but I will say that is more of a preference thing. I do fully enjoy the menudo as well. I will say I have never met a wait staff more attentive and always no matter how buys, and they get extremely busy, they always have a smile on their face and a kind word for all their customers. If you are a local or just driving by I recommend you make a quick stop and enjoy.

I had the shrimp enchiladas and they were absolutely amazing. Shrimp could use a little bit of flavor but all in all it was amazing. 9/10. (I said the price range of $40-100 because I had other people with me)

This place has the best Mexican food around Cedar Creek Lake. They now have their liquor license and their SPICY Michelada is so good!! Only place I've found you can get a Lengua street taco. YUMMY!!!

We came here tonight to eat while we were out in Johnson city looking at the lights with family, we ordered our food our waitress couldn't really understand what we were trying to order, we ordered a child's taco plate (soft taco), #1 enchiladas, two beef and cheese soft tacos by themself and the Texas plate or something like that. Our server came back with our food and started handing us our plates when I realized My daughters child plate was not a child's plate and had two tacos on it, I said to her "this was supposed to be a child's plate" she told me it was fine just to keep it since it was the same thing just an extra taco, I told her that's fine. They handed us the rest of our food only other thing that was wrong was they brought us extra tacos we did not order and they took those back. (Looking very annoyed) again we didn't order that & we didn't need it. Not our fault the waitress didn't understand what we were ordering.. after we ate we had went up to pay they told me to wait a second and went and got a manager, he walks up to us and the first thing he says "did you eat the plate" at first I couldn't understand what he was asking, then I realized oh he's asking if we ate I said well yes we did? Then he goes see you ate all the food in the plate were charging you for an adult plate, let me remind you this was supposed to be a child's plate. I was honestly shocked because it's not about the money I didn't mind having to pay for the plate but the way he immediately approached me asking if we ate off the plate and then tried to accuse my daughter 10 years old of eating everything on that plate when she indeed did not was insane. She looked scared by the way, I had to ask my 8 and 10 year old to stand by the door after that happened, then he proceeded to argue with me about the eaten food? I then said well they told us to just keep it? Still not sure why he is so upset about this. Smiling at me while he says "you ate all the food" does that even matter??? It wasn't even our mess up. Honestly I probably wouldn't of even known we were charged for an adult plate or even cared but how dare you say something like this? Very ugly behavior. I then told him do not speak to me like that, it's very disrespectful and embarssing because I'm not the one wrong here? If the food was eaten or not who cares??!! Don't tell us to keep the food then throw a fit when we go to pay. We went back and fourth for a min and then I told him he definitely needs to learn how to run his restaurant because that ain't it. The food was "ok" nothing special. But after this I definitely will never return. He continues to argue with me even after paying! As I'm still telling him, I have My children here and this is embarrassing and ridiculous, do better and be better! The manager of this place is a JOKE. If you're that money hungry you should have just taken the damn plate back and re made another one!! Oh and I forgot the server tried to say my daughter ate the plate clean! When we got up from the table and I wish I would Have taken a picture of her plate for proof but she definitely did not, and why even lie about something like that?! It's beyond me. Don't go here spend your money somewhere else with better food and service. This was our first time. Never again. Still can't believe how embarrassing this was. I did not want to even give them a 1 start they don't even deserve that.
Food does not taste good, not worth the price would not come here again. Tortilla soup was awful, enchiladas suck, the Dr.pepper was flat and with that the chips were not good as well. I am never coming back to this place

I went in about 2 weeks ago. The service was great. My food was delicious. Y'all those margaritas are delicious! My only complaint is a group of young adults that went in after we arrived. The servers were very patient with this group, as they had complained about everything. Not only were they loud but very rude. One girl in particular. I applaud the servers for how they reacted to this group. My server did a great job making sure I had everything i needed to have a pleasant time.
