Had the catfish black eye peas and grilled squash wife had same except she had fries food was good catfish could have been cooked longer blackeye peas taste like they were out a can but decent but we got there a few minutes before closing so not complaining server was nice and a restaurant that you can actually smoke in unheard of now days menu seems like they have home style cooking will be back

Really good breakfast here.

The service this time was great where the last several times I have had to wait very long periods of time for drinks, menus, food etc. this visit the sausage on my breakfast plate was burned and dry, eggs were under cooked. On my kids plates the fries were raw and on my wife's plate the chicken fried steak was very tough. The entire place smells strongly of cigarette smoke as of there ventilation system isn't working properly.

When you walk in there’s a big “wait here to be seated sign”, so we waited for about 10 minutes before one of the waitresses told us to just seat ourselves. The booth we sat in had a very weak seat, not sure if the others are in better condition. There’s also a large no smoking sign when you enter the restaurant, however in the bar side many people were smoking making the entire restaurant stink horribly. Honestly disgusting to allow in an establishment where kids are present. The food was genuinely so gross, I won’t even spend anymore time on it. The only good thing was the sweet waitresses they had on the floor. They both were very kind and made the experience slightly better. I think this place is definitely more ideal for people who want to go drink, without kids, versus a family lunch outting. If you’re looking for a bar, where you can smoke and play pool, this is your place. If you’re looking for food, go somewhere else.

I travel a lot. Local cafes are a big part of my travels. Stopped in at the Lakeside Cafe for a Saturday morning meal. Didn't wait to be seated since most local cafes don't worry about it. The locals were locals! Had a meat omelette with home fries and gravy. One of the best I've had in a long time. The potatoes were excellent. Service was attentive and the atmosphere was Texas. 😄

Do not waste your money on the steak. Thin and overcooked to say the least.
Service was horrible as well, seemed like there was just too much going on for the one person to cover.

The food was ok. The sign said wait to be seated so we waited for a little while until a lady finally said seat yourself. You could definitely tell the regulars were way more important. I never got a refill for my drink. My husband said the food made his stomach upset. You had one waitress for the whole place it looked like. Maybe that's what they do for their Friday morning breakfast rush. And they have a smoking side but the whole place smells like smoke. I didn't think restaurants did this anymore.
