Amazing atmosphere! Friendly service! And a big menu with very reasonable prices! I got Mama nan's crawfish etoufee! Came out hot, delicious, and there was plenty of it! Highly recommend this place!

Ordered the bayou BLT and it was so good. It is big enough for 3 people, so you don't have to order a side (just fyi). I've never had anything that wasn't good here. The staff are friendly and the patio is nice to sit in, weather permitting. I would recommend looking at the menu in advance because it is huge!

Plenty Good. Great food and lots of it. I crave Cajun and I can get my fix here. Yes, they have lunch specials at affordable prices. Crawfish cornbread is a must try. The location could be a little difficult but worth the effort.

CajunTex is a must if you love crawfish étouffée!!! Some of the best I've had! I love the muffuletta's as well you can't go wrong here if your in the mood for some good Cajun food!

1st time at this restaurant and found it extremely nice. A gentleman was playing & singing old songs which made evening enjoyable. Several different selection of meals to choose from plus variety of appetizers. Tried the cajun chicken and it came with crawfish etouffee & dirty rice. Wife had shrimp pasta and said very savory. Plenty of food and we had leftovers. Good place to try and we will return. Staff did fantastic job and very friendly.

Shrimp and fish basket, was soo good. My first time visit. Their fish dipping sauce is out of this world... not tarter sauce.. roumilard (not spelled correctly) sorry ! Could eat that on a cracker by itself!!!!

WOW!!!! We just had the best meal! Crawfish etouffee, gumbo, boudin egg rolls, our 3&5yo girls shared the kids grilled fish and veggies, and we had the chocolate and peach fried pies! Absolutely amazing. And it was such a reprieve after driving all day!

Always worth a stop when I come through. Love their Crawfish Surprise and their seasoned french fries, and they got some SWEET tea.
Overall, this is a really good place for something different in the small town of Hallsville, Texas. Was a little disappointed by the lack of spice expected for authentic Cajun food. A good portion of our family is Cajun. So this is a great value for the money. I will say that the staff was great and accommodating. The fried gator and fries are really good. We had a variety of dishes and appetizers. The Chips/Texas Twister are okay but really lacked any flavor and were greasy as with most potato chips. Nawlins Cheese Bread was okay but the Special Cajun Sauce is pretty much tarter sauce which was disappointing for we were expecting spice rather than tart and sour. My family really liked the Fried Pickels and tomatoes but can't personally speak for those. The family didn't like the hushpuppies, but I loved them. So, to all their own. I personally had the Tilapia Blackened which was excellent but still was expecting more spice though it was still super delicious. Portions are excellent. I will say the service was excellent and did everything possible to accommodate our needs for I don't eat bottom feeders due to allergies, but the rest of the family loves them so each dish they customized for us. If you're not into seafood, I highly recommend the Southwest Chicken. The Fried Okra is really good as well. As for soups, the family loved the Crab Bisque and the Mama Nan's Crawfish Etoufee. If you have large groups, they have really spacious meeting/dining rooms with their own bathroom and private entrance. We enjoyed our visit.

Worst crab cakes I've ever had in my life. I've previously eaten here twice it was sub par. Tonight I placed a to go order and from second hand opinion, their salad was good. My crab cakes were the worst I've ever had and I've spent half my life working in Louisiana. I'd actually like to punch the person that made these. I tried hard to eat them but In the trash they went. I will never go back and I'll chock this up to the owner not knowing what's happening in his/her restaurant. Makes me think their is a market for another similar restaurant with better quality.

We eat at Cajun Tex (this location or marshall) every time we are in E Texas to visit my parents. I always get a catfish poboy and it has never disappointed. Fish tastes good-not "fishy" and the bread is garlic-y/toasted. The tater twisters are always a must-very generous portion. I usually get extra to go as they keep well. Everyone in our party tries different things and no one has had a complaint yet. Me, i stick to my usual.

Great gumbo. We had both the chicken & sausage gumbo and the seafood gumbo. It was seasoned perfectly with the Cajun roux.
