Finally made it to First Chinese BBQ in Haltom City, and I’m already planning my return trip. Ordered the char siu pork and the lemongrass rib, both excellent choices that showcase what this place does well.
The char siu had that proper lacquered exterior with good caramelization and the right balance of sweet and savory. Tender without being mushy, exactly what you want from Cantonese-style roast pork.
But the real star was the lemongrass rib. Outstanding. Deep fried to a perfect crisp exterior while staying juicy inside, with the lemongrass flavor coming through beautifully—aromatic and distinct without overpowering the pork. Paired it with their fried rice, which was legitimately impressive—proper wok hei, individual grains, no greasiness. The kind of fried rice that makes you wonder why you ever settle for mediocre versions elsewhere.
This is the real deal hiding in plain sight in Haltom City. Skip the generic takeout spots and come here instead.

I love the Roast Duck and other Bar-B-Q items, They had many of my favorite dishes there. However, they only took cash and that was a deal breaker for me. It would cost over $100 for family of 4. Who carried lots of cash nowaday.? I would go there every week if they accept credit card. They had another place in Arlington that accepted credit card.

DoorDash bbq pork, duck, water spinach and beef & broccoli. All the food was flavorless. It had NO flavor what so ever. I don’t recall requesting the food to have no taste. I had to add salt just to get some taste. Beyond disappointed. Normally the food are delicious.

My grandparents used to take us to First Chinese BBQ when I was kid around late 80s to early 90s. We loved eating there! My parents wanted some duck and chicken so I picked some up from this location. I packed this up in a cooler to take back home and it had an odd smell to it. I figured it was just the marinade. Once I brought it to my parents house you could smell it was already rotten. I've taken food home I my cooler before and the food was always good so I'm not sure if the meat was bad or not this time.
Large portions. Fast service. Eggs rolls & crab rangoo was very good.

I had the bbq fried rice. The best I’ve ever had. Plentiful portion. Only good eat 1/3 of it. Good leftovers. They have a good variety! Received my food fast. The drawback was waiter was not friendly at all & they don’t have sweet & sour sauce. I will be back to order different plates. Give them a try.

I to-goed half a duck today, but realized the portion was extremely small compared to my past orders. My family agreed with me. Then we figured out something was missing…the wing and the shoulder pieces were not included 😠. Moreover, we usually have 4 to 5 pieces of breast meat but now I can only see about two🤬.
When I was at the restaurant, I could only see the lady’s back when she cut the duck. Just wanted to let the owner know that if you want to keep your customers, please have integrity and provide food that matches the price!!!
