Long wait, great food, bring a jacket, very cool inside

It smells very dank in here like spoiled carpet. It needs to be deep cleaned. I’m losing my appetite as I wait.

I came to Black Bear for the first time on March 11th. My son-in-law is in the ICU, so we stopped for a quick bite before going to see him. Upon arrival, the host met us rather quickly; her clothing was stained with bleach. We informed her it was our first time visiting, and she told us to be glad we came when we did. She then looked around and sat us. Our waitress came, and the receipt said it was Jennifer. She was older, so I tried to remain patient. As soon as she greeted us and got our drink order, she asked if we were ready to order. We told her that it was our first time visiting the establishment and we needed time to look. She says she will grab drinks and come back, she immediately asked if we were ready to order when she brought the drinks back. I told her no that we were still looking, when she came again, we just ordered because we felt rather rushed. My daughter ordered the sprinkle pancakes, when it came she got no syrup, she also took one bite of them, she did not like them at all. I ordered the Western BBQ burger, and upgraded to sweet potato fries. She asked how I wanted it cooked and I told her WELL DONE. My food came and I had to ask for the BBQ sauce. Then when I cut the burger it was PINK. I did not take a single bite of it, the sweet potato fries had absolutely no flavoring to them. My husband ordered the biscuits and gravy with oatmeal. He could not eat the biscuits as they were hard. The oatmeal when he ordered it he asked was craisins were and she said they are just raisins. That is not safe at all as he could have been allergic to cranberries. During the point of our eati andng she did not come back to check in on us that I remember. I was very sad that there was no Huckleberry tea I really looked forward to trying then. My husband stopped the lady and asked for a box and I told her no that I was not taking it home, that I had not even taken a bite of it, that it was not cooked that it was most definitely pink when I asked for it to be well done. She looks and says "oh sorry bout that, I will go grab your check." I looked around for the manager but he had disappeared. When we left he was around back smoking. I have tried to call the establishment to speak with a manager but the line just rings. I will not be returning to this establishment so I am not looking to get any kind of free foods or gift cards for this locations. However, I would like communication about this issue as $50 is a lot of money to have to turn around and go spend another $50 at McDonalds. I did take pictures and video of our food. the food was cold. waitress asked us if we wanted it microwaved. (really) she was very friendly at 1at but then turned rude and walked away. we waited 20 to speak to the manager and it was not busy there was a short older waitress I wish I would have gotten her name because she was so sweet and kept apologizing about our meal. we will not be returning and we ate here alot..

Great food and service. Norma was my server and she did awesome. always a pleasure to do business here.

Food is always great. The butter was cold for my pancakes, and I asked our waitress if she could melt the butter, and she did. She was amazing. Sorry, I don't recall her name.

Paper in my breakfast sandwich they forgot to take it out when melting cheese. Fired the best staff member for going to the bathroom we will.miss seeing Jeremi he always made my day. Supervisors suck and are not nice.
