Terrible. The hottest plate brought out was for a toddler, too hot to touch while the cast iron skillet was cold. Chicken tasted like it was friend yesterday and reheated. Dry and bland. Unlike the grits, that were more water than grits. Ice cold sausage straight from the fridge didn’t instill confidence in the shrimp being cooked. After being sent back and returned the exact same plate 15 minutes after, everyone else was done eating, cut losses and went hungry. Not busy, no wait, no excuses. Also, the facade of the building is literally falling apart, so just as much care put into the establishment as there is the food.

Table was dirty and sticky. Didn't get my eggs and bacon with the pancakes so they were warm and not hot. The blueberry pancakes were wonderful! We almost left, we waited so long to be waited on. You were not busy!!! We had to wait to pay, no one was at the register nor seen on the floor stocking. We used to come frequently but not so much anymore. After this visit we will not be returning anytime soon!

Worst food ever, everything was burnt and overcooked. How can you serve pancakes that are black on one side and very over done on the other?

Our waiter needs more training, 4 adults order pancakes, we got 1 bottle of syrup. Missing food items, only 3 sets of utensils. We were 1/2 way through our meal before he brought utensils. Finally got more syrup. Missing food items (eggs) were cold. Brought us wrong check which was 80.00 vs ours being 50. He just didn't know how to multitask very well.

This is the first time I have had a great experience in a Cracker Barrel restaurant. The server was outstanding, the food was great, and the staff was very friendly.

We have been going to the Cracker Barrel in Harker Heights Texas for years, but service and food quality has definitely declined. My husband ordered a steak medium rare, and it arrived well done with a few spots of pink. Sent it back and it came back pink with some that was completely rare. The steak pieces on my hash brown casserole were overdone and almost uncuttable. Service was great and none of it was her fault. Like my sister, I will stick to only getting their chocolate cake with ice cream from now on.

Service was horrible! My husband’s order was wrong and I had to send my plate back also. Should have known when we got there and they walked us back to a dirty table and than looked at us to sit down and then brought us back to the front. To grab us 5 mins later to have the bus boy wipe the table for us. It was definitely an experience we are not use to for this establishment. Definitely won’t be returning soon

Every place i have been too has been better than this one. Our waiter was uncaring never checked on us. ANDlet part of our food of the plate.
Usually you get corn bread and rolls for free, we didn't get that.
The restroom where fine until you realize there is no Toilet Paper!!!

I don't know if there is a management issue or new owner but this place used to better.

Did not get refill on coffee, ate whole breakfast without a drink. We asked for extra syrup that never came out, and my sons eggs weren't prepared in the style he asked, new eggs came out when we done eating, he left because he had to go work. The manager deducted off the bill. Thank you!

The food is good but they are giving smaller portion and only give one or two biscuits or muffins... It is not how it used to be.

The bacon taste a little different the last two times I went there. I don’t like like the change. Other than that same great service and atmosphere.

There was a persons fork on the side of the window and under my family members chair the waitress won’t ask us if we wanted a refill and we had to pay extra for bread and another side just to not get it.

We visited the Cracker Barrel in Harker Heights on Monday, January 13, around 6 PM. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The service was very slow, and some of our food arrived cold.

Our server, Ray, was a new hire. She was friendly and did her best to ensure we were taken care of, but it still took about 45 minutes for our food to arrive, and when it did, it wasn’t up to standard. My steak, which I requested medium, came out well done, and the chicken tenders weren’t as fresh as expected. My wife ordered the classic sampler, and our kids had meals from the kids' menu.

It seemed like many staff members, including those in the kitchen and at the front, were in training, which likely contributed to the delays and inconsistencies. While I didn’t feel comfortable addressing the issues in person at the time, I wanted to share this feedback.

We’ve had better experiences here in the past, particularly on busier weekends when the team seems more prepared. We’d love to return when the staff is better equipped to handle service. Thank you for considering this feedback.
