This was my first time supporting this restaurant and I ordered dinner for my family for pick up last night and was pretty disappointed in a couple of things.
First of all pricing on yelp is incorrect. I ordered 2 orders of the favorite which shows it's $75.00 but when I arrived it was $120.00.
Second when I got home I realized there were no onions, pickles, bbq sauce or bread with the order. Apparently after speaking to the supervisor today you are supposed to get them yourself as if you were dining at the restaurant. There was no mention of this to me.
Also for spending $300 dollars in this restaurant I would think those items would be automatically provided. Sadly all she said was sorry that no one told you.
The food was decent enough but the service is definitely lacking.
I would not recommend ordering take out from this restaurant nor will I be returning myself. I had family visiting from out of state and they were looking forward to great bbq. This wasn't it

We drove far to eat here in Helotes. My daughter paid for horrible barbecue. Why does anyone pay $17.00 for sandwich and almost as much for a meal. Do people who come here have bad taste buds. I usually never complain about food but this is the worst barbecue. Don’t waste your money. Barbecue is tough and dry. Never will be back. 🤮

I picked up an order for a group of 12.. from the time I called in the order to the time, all 12 people had eaten everything went excellent! The brisket and ribs were my favorite . Everyone was thoroughly happy. Thank you

Very sad. My husband and I come every Wednesday at 11. We usually deal with a warm welcome and how are you from the lady that works there. This week oh boy she was working the other end and the most rude and obnoxious man served us. Throwing his hands in the air like we were bothering him saying we'll what do you want. I am hearing impaired I apologize for it on top of it. Mind you we were the only ones in there so we weren't holding up a line. I threw my food out because the whole thing was spoiled. The lady ,such a beautiful person apologize profusely. I will not be going back. 9/3/25

It's one of my top 3 bbq places to eat at in San Antonio. The turkey sandwich is delicious
Called ahead to ask about the baked potato, got there to the restaurant walked in to no greeting or welcome and when we asked for a baked potato they were out. We just got a sorry with nothing. So I have no clue how the food is because we walked out hungry 🥲
This was my first time eating here and we will definitely be back. I got the Mac Daddy (a brisket grilled cheese with mac and cheese on it) and my boyfriend got the 3 Meat Plate with brisket, chicken, and pork ribs. We also got a side of cream corn to share. All the food was reasonably priced and very large servings, and it was delicious too!

It's Friday, 6pm, and Banderas BBQ star runs out of ribs, brisket is dry and this is time no.3 of food dissapoint. I watch 4 walk-ins, walk right back out. Not good business practice.Your an established food restaurant and already should know the drill.Mgmt eyes on business please.

My partner and I were recommended this place since we were going to be in the area. Overall everything we good lacked flavor except the turkey sandwich.. the turkey sandwich was good. Great flavor and the bread was soft. I will say that was the best. BUT Brisket and sausage was basic. Potato salad tasted like mustard and no other seasoning. Mac and cheese tasted basic nothing wow about it. Cream corn tasted chewy which was a disappointment. This was our first time here. Sad to say I wouldn't make it a point to return. It was pricey and not worth it.

Great all around choices and nothing disappoints. Haven't gotten the dino rib yet but that is on our to-do list. Plenty of beer selections. My son now only gets their birria tacos now, says most flavorful out of anyone (he has tried them all around since he was introduced to them a few years ago) and they do it right (dip tortilla in sauce then grill). Have to go early or they run out just like brisket. Service is always friendly and fast. The atmosphere is great and if you go on the weekends there is live entertainment. We have been in Helotes for 25 years. We have seen numerous places come and go in this spot. B Daddy's has been able to sustain (even through COVID) and grow their business. We love great BBQ, glad they are still around, and we will continue to support.
