As someone from Mexico, I’m usually tired of places branding themselves as “Mexican restaurants.” This one completely caught me off guard, not only because of the name, but because the restaurant itself is super cozy and pintoresque. It honestly feels like being in a little town in Mexico.
The food was amazing, and our server Robyn made the whole experience feel so welcoming (we were a bit lost at first since they were hosting a wedding in the patio). I ordered the small mezcalita, and let me tell you, it’s anything but small, lmao.
Overall, I’d give it a 10/10. Food-wise, you can really tell the owners are Mexican and know what they’re doing, from the caldo tlalpeño to their new Mexican lasagna. Truly a wonderful experience. 100% would come back.

Great place! Food was on point and we had a great server. The atmosphere was very pleasant minus the muddy path back to my truck due to the rain.

My chile relleno was mediocre. The house margarita was sugar water…We sat inside which was nice… however waiter and waitresses very noisy …. I might return when it’s cooler and I can perhaps enjoy the music.

We were very excited and with high expectations that we would love the food and the atmosphere of this restaurant, I made the reservation and we went to the restaurant, the first impression was nice outside and around the restaurant, but once we went inside we were not lucky with the table we got, I simply did not like the place, the walls need paint touch-ups, the ceiling too, the table was not decorated nicely, they need to take care of the smallest details because that makes the place nicer, then the chip plate was broken, it was something small but you can see the broken plate and it gives a pretty mediocre appearance. The food they put some burnt potatoes fried on top of both plates, we did not like the food, mediocre too. Well overall we left disappointed and also feeling ripped off because I ordered a mojito and they didn't have a mojito and instead I ordered a screwdriver cocktail and guess what happened?
They charged me for both, including the mojito, which they didn't have. We didn't say anything to avoid embarrassment, so we paid and left, completely disappointed.

Had this place on my list of places to visit for years! Beautiful, scenic drive there. Lovely outdoor seating area. Ordered the hot cakes with bacon at the host's suggestion. Don't recall his name but he was super friendly and helpful! Everyone raves about the pancakes/hot cakes but I wouldn't say they were noteworthy in my humble opinion. I'd come again to try their lunch/dinner dishes. Really appreciated that they had a fan since it was warm outside, as well as table fans to keep flies at bay.

Great food & service. We were celebrating my wife’s birthday with family. Our server Alan did a great job at our table of 17. He’s nice, friendly & very attentive.

Went here for a weekday evening dinner with my daughter, baby son, and mother. The ambiance of a restaurant nestled in the quiet trees was lovely. My mom said it reminded her of her old ‘rancho’ back in the rugged Mexican state of Durango. Hacienda meets country chic.
We ordered the Queso Fundido and Enpanadas for appetizers. Shared between the three of us, we were already feeling full. I ordered Barbados tacos, my mom got sirloin tacos, daughter got chicken tenders. We could barely finish our food we were already nearly full. But we couldn’t leave without trying the dessert. We ordered a tres leches cake and flan. Holy caramel, the flan was delicious! Like, it rates up there with some fine dining restaurants in Mexico.
But what I appreciated the most was the attention the hostess, server, and management gave us. They made it a point to address us in both English and Spanish. I felt like we were treated like royalty. If there was a problem, the server took care of it.
I intend to take my extended family here in February for a lovely dinner in Grey Forest.
