I wanter to love it, but unfortunately, not a place for me. This seems to be a very popular place, loud and busy when we went for dinner. It is a bit crammed in there when it's busy. Food was alright. Our server was MIA being occupied with a other table, they seemed to have known who they were, lots of chatting and hugging the group that was there. Might be better when it's not so busy. I would still encourage anyone to try it for themselves.

First off, it was the best meal I have ever had!!! We made reservations and were seated immediately. I love the decor of the restaurant. it's very beautiful. Angela, our server, was very nice,professional, and had a very good knowledge of the menu. Our food was brought out in a timely manner. At the table, we had the fillet, collard greens, and mac and cheese, also the fillet, mash potatoes, and squash. The steak was cooked exactly as ordered, was tender, juicy, and the demi glaze was amazing. The collard greens were phenomenal, same for the mac & cheese. The manager Paul came by our table to check in at every appropriate time, which also added to the amazing dining experience. I'm not from here, just visiting family. When I come back to town, I will definitely eat here again.

By far the greatest restaurant I have been to in a very long time. The food is superb, no exaggeration! I have never ordered anything that I did not like and was like... DAMN!!! this is so good! The steaks melt in your mouth and the Chile Con Fondue... OMG!!! Truthfully, you will not be disappointed! If you visit, say hello to the greatest barmaids, Taylor and Hailey. Before you leave, ask for Kenneth, the owner. He is such a great guy who truly cares about his customers and the community he serves. And if Rosie is around, you have to say hello. The most amazing guy you will ever meet and somehow seems to have been everywhere and knows everyone. There are too many to mention such as Paul, what a great manager and a great friend. Also the greatest servers ever Gabby, Angela, Jet, Bree, Hailey, and so many more. The most important, the chef... Wow! Kenneth did good finding the best chef ever! If there is only one day you can visit, go Wednesday or Thursday. Wednesday is a special on chicken fried steak and Thursday is steak night! You will not be disappointed!

Words don't cover it. Angela took care of us like we had been life long friends. The food was incredible, from piping hot juicy wings, a burger so heavy and well balanced it left my back hurting, to a cobbler that had me in tears. If a single review was going to convince you of anything, let it be that this is the best restraunt for 100 miles. Only 7 months old and already a cornerstone of the community it rests in.

What a surprise! My birthday was on a week night, and we didn’t feel like heading into the city for dinner. Instead, we finally went to Hempstead’s new place.
It was chicken fried steak night, so we gave it a try. The food was executed well. We’d definitely come back to try more of the menu.
The highlight of Citizen, though, is their wine list. Kistler, Kosta Brown, Cakebread — and a nod to local talent — Tate! Really stellar selection at good pricing.

My Sister has been talking about this place and how great everything is. We finally tried it today, we should have come sooner! 4 of us everyone tried something different it was all amazing. Fresh baked croissants and breads! Delicious coffees, hot and iced. Delicious bread pudding and pastries! We loved the waffle fries too. We will definitely be back.

The waitresses were amazing, very sweet and attentive. The food on the other hand was not the best. I had the vodka chicken pasta, I can immediately taste the vodka, lack of herb seasonings and, very much felt lack of flavor in general. The mashed potatoes were decent but dry maybe some gravy would’ve made it better. Presentation wise it looks great, but the flavor and taste was not there.
Pricing was fair and great service.
