Food was ok it was mine served cold besides the mac and cheese. Wifes baked potatoe was a little hard but still ok the topping were good. They used to have a bar it wasnt really livley like back in the day. Kinda run down now.

* UPDATE- I had no issue paying for the side instead of the special, so please refrain from saying lies about me!! My issue was with the QUALITY of food that I was given this time. Prices are expensive for what was received. And I GLADLY support local businesses all the time!!
Waste of $40! Ordered plate with brisket(plate had 2 very thin small pieces) and ribs(3). No bread included. No flavor at all and lady put seasoning on top, which if its full of flavor shouldn't require seasoning on top!! Onions had an old taste. Had ALL fat and what was meat was hard end pieces. Chopped beef sandwich had alot of fat. Loaded potato was ALL fat instead of meat. Mac & cheese very thick and seemed like it was from previous day. Sweet corn is just can corn with some seasoning on top. I've given them over 10 tries, but this was my last!!

Bar B Que sandwich was very good. And was a nice size and priced right..service was friendly. Very clean.
Good Texas BBQ. The brisket was moist and tender, but you had the option to choose if you wanted leaner cuts. Ribs were also great—flavorful and tender. Happy to have this for hometown bbq!

Brisket must have been in warmer all day, it just falls apart when you try to pick it up, lots of fat in it also. Okay flavor. Bread was stale. Jalapeno/cheese sausage was good. Mac n cheese clumpy and think. Potato salad was good. Chopped beef sandwich was ok, the sauce was over powering. Nice service. Outside patio tables need to be cleaned, and spider webs removed. I really expected better

Ordered ribs and brisket sandwich. I had to ask to have brisket warmed as it was refrigerator cold. The sides were horrible. Do not order the sweet corn or the coleslaw. How do you mess up corn or coleslaw! The taste of the meat was ok. Will not go again.

I enjoyed my stop here. It was highly recommended by a coworker, so I tried it on the way out of town. I had a 3 meat plate consisting of brisket, ribs and chicken with green beans and Mac n cheese for sides. The Brisket was tender and tasty, the ribs were tasty and cooked to my liking, which is fall off the bone tender, so I'd recommend those. The chicken....it was pretty dried up and had such a strange taste that I was afraid that it was spoiled, so I did not eat that....cannot recommend it. The Mac n cheese and green beans were both very good...definitely would recommend those.
Not the best BBQ place I've been, but most certainly not the worst either. I'd eat here again if I was in the area.

This was my first time eating here and as soon as I walked in, I knew it was going to be good; the place is decked out with trophies from barbecue competitions, wall-to-wall. My most difficult moment was deciding what to get! I chose the brisket and turkey and I was not disappointed! I have not had barbecue this good in a long time! This is probably close to if not the best barbecue I have ever had! If they had a location in Bryan, they would likely put another really popular barbecue joint out of business because the food is SO much better! The sides are really tasty, too. It seems this is a family business, which is awesome! I love seeing young kids helping out and pitching in, learning the ins and outs of what it is to run a business. The staff is so kind. I have never felt so welcomed at a restaurant, which was the cherry on top of an amazing experience. We do not live in Hempstead, but anytime we are passing through, we absolutely will be stopping here again. My biggest regret: once I sat down, I saw a trophy for Best Ribs and I could have kicked myself for not getting ribs. Next time... ?
Not the prettiest place, limited drink options in small plastic glass. But heck, probably the best BBQ I've ever had. They could piss on my shoes or slap me silly, I would still go back for more of that BBQ!

Very, very good BBQ. Award winning. They sell their spice rubs so you can try to make the same thing at home. Good luck with that.We have been here twice and both times were impressed with the quality, flavors and textures of the smoked meats and sides. The only exception was the coleslaw. The first time it had surprising ingredients and tasted homemade. The second time it seemed like it was scooped from a tub. That's ok. I come here for the meat. I expect you will be completely satisfied with that.
