The only thing better than the food was the service. 100% will detour through Hico specifically for Eis. There's a B&B upstairs that I want to stay at soon.
The food, though. The pimento cheese on jalapeno sourdough stole the show. An experience that spiritual hasn't been had since the days of summer youth group revivals.
Swing through, you won't be disappointed.

Our first time eating at Eis was wonderful. The sandwiches and sides where excellent. The ice cream was great too. But the young lady that took our order made the whole experience wonderful. Being our first time we asked for suggestions and she so informative and she has a clear passion for the restaurant. We will definitely be back! I would go back just for the food but the young lady needs a raise!!

The servers are as great as the food! Jalapeño sourdough bread on the sandwiches is not spicy but is fabulous and fresh. The baked potato salad is a Must try side. Enjoy!

Clean, friendly place in historic downtown Hico. I enjoyed my ham sandwich on sourdough, side of potato salad, and a local soda. Half an hour from Dinosaur Valley State Park. Both are worth a visit.

Wonderful little sandwich shop just off the beaten path, but not by much, in the little town of Hico, TX.
Despite the rather small menu of simple options, four of us (including two teenage boys) were able to each find something we wanted, and agreed that the food was very good.
Can definitely recommend the roast beef, chicken salad, ham, and turkey sandwiches on jalapeno sour dough. Don't let the name scare you, the jalapeno just adds a little flavor, not heat.
Despite the late holiday weekend travelers, and lunch hour groups, our order was taken, and our to-go lunch was prepared quicky and handed to us with a smile.
Thanks for the great lunch, with a side of chips.

Fantastic food and friendly service. Roast beef works well with sweet sourdough bun. Everything is home made in Texas or in house. Our new favorite stop when passing through town, over KK next door.

Stopped in on a trip to Oklahoma. Sandwiches were fantastic! Service was great and they were very friendly. 10/10 would drive to here from South Texas for another sandwich.

Had to make a pit stop during our road trip from Lubbock to Houston - what a smart decision. We didn’t want fast food, so Sonic was off the table, but Eis was the move!! The sandwiches were beyond amazing. We really didn’t believe that the prices we paid for those sandwiches would worth, but after the first bite…? Thanks for this small-town gem!!
We got the roast beef, turkey and ham sandwiches. But I can’t imagine that it even mattered which sandwiches we chose, because they all were so good. Make the stop; it’s worth it!!!

Just tried this little spot on our way through Hico. It was such a wonderful experience. We treated ourselves to some sandwiches and ice cream. Boy are we glad we did. It was amazing!! I thought the sandwiches were going to be the best part until I had their coconut ice cream. Heavenly!! I will definitely be back. 10 out of 10!!
