Nancy took care of us at Katherine’s bar today. She was great. Phenomenal experience. Really enjoyed it.
? Cheers to Amazing Service! ?
We had an unforgettable girls’ wine tasting experience at William Chris Vineyards, and we just have to shout out Jillian for her top-notch service during the Winemaker’s Tasting! ? Her knowledge, warmth, and attention to detail made our weekend extra special. Thank you, Jillian, for helping us create beautiful memories!
Highly recommend William Chris for anyone looking for a perfect blend of wine and hospitality. ??

It’s absolutely beautiful scenery on the patio and the wines are wonderful. I loved the Enchanté and Petite Sirah. The Merlot was also surprisingly good ?
By far best wine tasting experience we had while we were in Fredericksburg! We didn’t have a reservation, but they were so kind a made space for us. We did the tasting with Kaie and she was incredible! She was so fun and knowledgeable. She went above and beyond to make our experience special. Kaie truly helped educate us and we now appreciate Texas wines even more! The wine itself was great and the venue is gorgeous. We want to come back soon to do the meal and wine pairing!
We had an amazing experience celebrating our anniversary! We met Chris the day before by chance. He was very humble and made our anniversary memorable for us by inviting us to vineyard and take part in a great wine tasting. The wine tasting with Kendra was fantastic—her expertise and warm welcome made us feel right at home, and we enjoyed every moment. A big thank you to Chris for being so hospitable and for the special bottle of wine. We’re excited to return, especially as members, and look forward to more great experiences!
So disappointed. This is our third visit here - first two visits in ‘22 & ‘23 were amazing and made WC our favorite. This year we had minimal customer service. Got here early for our reservation, but they wouldn’t seat us. Ok. Waited until our time. We were seated then waited 20 minutes. No one acknowledged us or served us. Many, many employees milling about. I’m very bummed!
Hope to begin tasting my Picpoul Blanc very soon. Very much appreciate Chris and Cody helping me out. Will hope to share more soon
We came up to William Chris for a girls weekend. The winery itself is absolutely beautiful and has a great atmosphere. I loved the views as they were picturesque of hill country but what really stuck out to me is how thought out the usable spaces were of the winery. There was enough room for a picnic, walking, and being comfortably seated with privacy. There was live music that added to the feel as well.
We completed a wine tasting through reservation with Kaie and she was knowledgeable of everything we could have asked her about the wines she was serving. She was kind and extremely personable which is so important of staff when the setting can be overwhelming to first timers.
Overall, we loved our visit so much we each decided to visit again with our partners.
We have been members of William Chris for 9 years. The beautiful wines, family vibe and overall experience is why we love this Texas vinyard.
Arriving at the property, you’re greeted with gorgeous views and a taste of their rosé at checkin. With nearly no wait we were brought over to their tasting room where we sampled 5 different varieties of wines made from Texas grapes.
We had a great time during the wine tasting with Kaie as wine expert. As we tasted each wine, she would give us info and history about the wines, grapes, and grow regions. She was a lovely gem and fun to talk about wine with.
After tasting, we spent the afternoon on their picturesque property with a bottle of wine and enjoyed the weather! A very fun trip for a weekend coming from Houston. ?

Absolute top notch facility. Tremendous! Make sure to reserve a spot in the tasting room ahead of time, and be certain to arrive early. Everything this winery does is Excellence!
This is a wonderful venue with beautiful grounds and a nice outdoor patio our ladies group had lunch at. Staff was knowledgeable about wines and we didn’t feel rushed with our tastings. There are a variety of good wines. Seemed to be more reds than whites.
Another wonderful trip to WC winery. We really like being members and enjoy to ambiance of the facility. Always some good swag to purchase.
Don’t like to complain but our attendant was a bit slow this trip out. I think she was trying to do too many other things.
Wines were good as always.
My husband and I took a quick little wine weekend into Fredericksburg and after researching the hundreds of vineyards and wineries in the area, we narrowed it down to a short list, based on reviews, articles, and reputation. William Chris was easily in our top five, and happened to be our first stop along our little self-led tour of the Texas wine country. It was a great stop and did not disappoint.
The property itself is beautiful. I liked that it was set back from the road and that they had grapes growing on-site. We were greeted promptly when we arrived to check in for our reservation. We made reservations online about a week in advance and that process was easy and convenient.
There was plenty of parking and they even have Tesla chargers, so even the car was pleased with this stop on our journey! We really appreciated being able to charge while we toured, which allowed us to get home to Austin at the end of the weekend without having to stop for a super charger.
The staff is incredible and very diverse. We met people from many different countries and towns, all of whom were extremely knowledgeable about viniculture and wine making. The tasting room was gorgeous and modern, with beautiful windows that allow you to overlook the property while you do a tasting. We tasted about 7 wines total. The tasting fee was $30 per person, which felt really reasonable for the amount of wine we tried.
The wines themselves were good, but not quite as tasty as we had hoped. They are definitely worthy of their reputation of being one of the best Texas wines, but I don't know that they would hold up in the broader "world" market of wine.
We ordered a picnic lunch to share and thought it would be provided during our tasting so that we could experiment with the food and wine together, but we quickly learned that the tasting was just for wine.
After our tasting, which took about 45 minutes (we would have preferred a faster pace) we headed out to some picnic tables under the oak trees for our picnic which was packed for us at the winery.
The food was decent but there was mayonnaise on EVERYTHING and we really would suggest putting sauces on the side, so that folks can add what they like and how much they like.
We saw an amazing amount of monarchs while we were out on the grounds and we stopped into their general store, which was so completely adorable!
We did end up taking home a bottle of red and we do plan to return for a saber experience with a sparkling wine the next time we're in town.
If we lived closer, we would probably be a member at this winery. It's nice but alot of their especially great wines are for members only. We were glad we stopped in and definitely plan to return.
This is always a must-stop winery any time we’re in town (or our friends are)! We had a paired wine and food tasting with Jon today that absolutely blew any other reservation out of the water. He is full of wisdom, stories, and insight that you can’t even hope for somewhere else.
The kitchen is also fantastic - the menu as-is is delicious, but they’re flexible enough to handle allergies etc. without sacrificing the quality of the pairings.
All in all, highly recommend.
