We had JW’s for the first time today and it was amazing!!! The crust on the brisket was perfect!!! The ribs were amazing as well! Will most definitely eat here again!!!!

Drove by this place a couple of times but didn't have time to stop. You can bet I'll be making time to stop here from now on. Very rarely does a BBQ joint get it right with every meat on the tray. Usually the ribs will be great and the brisket won't or vice versa. I can of think of a few places that hit it out of the park with everything. Thos is one of them. He serves two different flavors of ribs...a dry rub and a glazed. Omg....they were both fantastic. The brisket was so good and sliced to perfection. Just the right amount of bark, fat, and meaty part. The turkey is usually something I skip because I prefer sausage but they were sold out of sausage. I'm so glad I got the turkey. Mouth watering is the only thing I can think of. Y'all need to run not walk to JW's Barbecue in Jacksonville. Tell em I sent you.

This is a BBQ gem! With its exceptional food, outstanding service, and inviting atmosphere, it's no wonder they have a consistent five star rating. I'm a brisket gal, and I'm always looking for that perfectly crusted, smokey, tender (with the perfect amount of marbling) 5 star brisket. I found it here in Jacksonville, TX! It's worth going out of your way! The staff was amazing! They even treated us with a plate of their new menu item, smoked short rib with a chimichurri sauce. It was delicious! Just like the brisket, it was tender, perfectly crusted, and had a great deep smokey flavor. The chimichurri sauce was a nice surprise of flavor I wasn't expecting. Next to the brisket, I would highly recommend adding it to your order.

The food was good, just cold. Staff was friendly and the tea was good. Pinto beans were not seasoned but was the warmest part of my meal. Turkey was delicious and tasted like Thanksgiving but was cold. Brisket was trimmed well and was presented nicely but was cold. Squash and zucchini had excellent flavor but, you guessed it, was cold. Outdoor temperature was 20 degrees but the heat lamps should keep meats that aren't in the warmer at least somewhat warm. All in all, food was good, staff is friendly and I'll be back if I'm in the area. Just bring the food temperature up to food safety standards and I'll bump up my review.
Side note, 1/4lb brisket, 1/4lb turkey, 2 sides and a drink for $30. I want warm or hot food.

I've ate at 3 of the top 5 barbeque restaurants picked by Texas monthly. I've ate at a dozen of the top 50. I've had barbecue in Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma and a few other states. JW's is by far the best brisket and sauce combination in my opinion. Also his apple pie ribs are some of the best I've ever had in my 48 years. I couldn't love it more! Sausage is perfect to me. Worth a trip to East Texas just to eat here!

Excellent place to get BBQ in Jville. Maybe the only place. Turkey was great and chopped brisket and sausage was really good. Get there between 11 and 1130 or there will be a line out the door.
