Went in for lunch and I was not impressed. Our waitress acted like she was bothered by us. It was a nice day in November they had the door opened. We were the first ones in there after opening and we sat in the front in front of windows. It’s a pretty little bistro. It is nice atmosphere I gave it a 3 because with the door opened we were surrounded by flies. When we complained about the amount of flies our waitress just commented it’s that time of year. We were literally shooing flies off our food, trying to cover our drinks etc. felt like I was having lunch in a horse barn. I’ve dealt with less flies at a picnic. I got attitudes when I ordered salad without cheese, I’m vegan. Then ordered some bread not expecting it to come covered in syrup, so I asked for another slice without syrup, I finally got it right before we were ready to leave. My choices were limited do to my dietary restrictions, which I understand not every place will suit me but I have never been treated like I was an alien. Not everyone wants cheeses and sugar spread all over everything. So with the attitude, the flies, probably won’t go back.

4.5/5 I think this bistro restaurant takes its sauces seriously—each dish shows clear attention to detail and well-balanced flavors. However, when it comes to the wine list, there isn’t much worth exploring.
A more thoughtful selection would really elevate the overall dining experience.

The food is worth the wait!
My husband and I came last year and had to come back to Austin Street Bistro. The smells coming from this restaurant beg you to come inside! You will wait and that is okay. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the company of the people at your table. Be patient and enjoy the moment.
This is not fast food. This is homemade with love! This is a surprising little gem in the city of Jefferson, TX. My husband ordered the Mardi Gras Sandwich with a salad. I ordered the Carne En Su Hugo and Chicken Salad Sandwich. We shared the gouda cheese grits. EVERYTHING is good. The flavors are flavoring.
I will be thinking of my next meal at Austin Street Bistro. 😋
Thank you ladies for your kindness and one of the best meals ever.
Much love from Dallas, TX

Been many times but the last 2 times atmosphere, service has changed. Food was not as tasty as In the past, waitress was way off to the point I had to beg for our ticket. So sad for we really loved going and would drive a distance.

We had a great meal at Austin Street Bistro. The sausage lasagna delivered cozy, savory layers, while the Mardi Gras sandwich brought bright, zippy flavors - perfect combo. The fresh brown bread and the crisp salad with their house vinaigrette were simple and spot-on. Every bite tasted fresh and truly homemade. We’ll be back!

First of all the smell when I walked in was like home. I could smell the flavor and the seasoning it was so captivating. The first course arrives, (appetizer) CROSTINI: grilled focaccia topped with jalapeño goat cheese smothered in a rich homemade marinara sauce!!!!!😋and it’s like a tiny masterpiece on a plate. The second course the PECAN TOPPED SALMON: wild caught Alaskan salmon topped with pesto and a pecan crust absolutely cooked to perfection. The flavors are layered, fresh, and vibrant. Each bite is a perfect balance of textures and tastes that somehow both surprise and comfort you at the same time. The German brown bread with maple butter on top was the right amount of sweetness. Again😋….. The whole experience lingers with you long after you’ve finished. It wasn’t just a meal—it was an event. And when you leave, you can’t help but feel grateful, as if you’ve just had the privilege of experiencing something rare and extraordinary. Thank you for such a memorable experience!!! #2daysinarow #jeffersontx
I highly recommend! Quality ingredients, excellent presentation of the dishes, great service, and a little kitchen in the back serving up food like it was made at the house of a friend who is a great cook. It's a little place and you can smell all the amazing cooking going on twenty feet away from you. Go eat there and support this business, you will be glad you did.
I had the Mardi Gras sandwich and a cup of French Onion Soup. My wife had the amazing Apple Chicken salad with strawberry vinaigrette. We split the Apple Streusel a la mode.
