We were looking to try something new. La Mesa was pretty good. Lindsey is a great waitress and offered great recommendations. The food style reminded me a lot of Frijoles, but that's fine. The menu was smaller, but they offered all the staples.
We split the enchilada trio with borracho beans. The beef enchilada in green sauce was our favorite.
The atmosphere/dining experience was great. Love how spacious and comfortable everything is.

Chips and salsa had no flavor . ordered the carne guisada and it had no taste. tasted like water down ground beef and the rice was dry. beans were ok but I wouldn't recommend to anyone. I never complain but man was I disappointed. very nice place but if that's what's being served I can't imagine it surviving. better off going to rosas for cheaper meal and better flavor. I would not call this close to authentic or texmex
Lindsey is the best bartender, server, and food runner I’ve ever seen. She also makes a mean Mexican coke straight from the cooler.
All joking aside this place has amazing food, good atmosphere and a friendly staff!
